Even from the outside, once you have crossed the gate, the two houses, La Sindaca and Fermata Genisi, born in different periods, do not hurt together, on the contrary. There is a symbiosis even in diversity. Perhaps this is what unconsciously pushed us towards hospitality. Private hospitality, almost on an equal footing, where those arriving already feel at home.
And the double, short, stairway leading inside does not create distances, but on the contrary it is an invitation to enter even for the presence of two verandas. The two houses together can accommodate four people with the addition of a double sofa bed and any cots or cots.


The Mayor is composed of two air-conditioned double bedrooms, with TV and en-suite bathroom, plus a living room with sofa bed and dining area, a full kitchen with a dining table. Free WiFi and internal parking and in the courtyard, and two habitable verandas, a garden area with swimming pool and pergola, barbecue.

The property was gorgeous, set in the Sicilian Country side. The pool was a much welcomed touch, as it was HOT. It is currently divided into 2 mini houses, with the only connection being through the front doors. Almost each bedroom had an air conditioner--only one did not, on the older side. There was a washing machine in each sections of the house as well. So many different fruiting trees, but none were in season yet :(. There is a grocery store, about an 8 minute drive away, an amazing bakery about 11 min and beautiful beaches and beach clubs about 20 min away. Definitely rural as there are lots of flys and ants, but nothing you dont expect from such a setting. Loved not staying in the tourist areas and would definitely come back here again.

Disappointing Expensive Smelled "damp" Inadequate sun shade, no parasols for pool, Broken loungers.

There were no parasols for the poolside in temperatures of high 30s degrees. We asked the Contact for parasols & none were provided. Unsafe, high risk of sunstroke. Sun-loungers broken, missing wheel, rusted bolts, not fit for purpose, unusable. The property smelled damp & even after opening all the doors and windows the smell would not disappear. Floor boards showed evidence of of water damage. The road was noisy as was used by heavy traffic something to be highlighted, constant traffic.

Nice stay at Le Maria

Le Maria is a very nice house with a wonderful pool and garden area. A happy herd of cows lives on the other side of the garden wall and the clanging of their bells gives a tranquil countryside feel. The owners Graziella and Sara were extremely helpful and responsive. We did not have the problems with electricity mentioned in other reviews. The kitchens (there are two) are generally well equipped but some more pots, pans, kitchen knives and chopping boards would be good to have.

Huis met heerlijk zwembad vlak bij ragusa

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in het hart van het barokke sicilie. Het huis was heerlijk, lag mooi centraal en op een kort stukje rijden van ragusa. Salo en Graziella hebben ons uitstekend ontvangen (met verse cornetti) en begeleid.

Wonderful and amazing place to stay, quiet, but short drives to beaches and beautiful older part of Ragusa. Owners always available for questions and very helpful. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the swimmingpool and garden. Thanks again dor the lovely stay!

Heiße Nächte in Ragusa

Das Grundstück mit dem Pool und den Bäumen ist wunderschön. Man muss den Mix des Hauses mögen. Alt trifft Moderne. Leider muss man von Ragusa stets 1-2 Stunden Fahrzeit einplanen, um die sizilianischen Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besuchen.
