Rooms are very tired and need a long over due update! Also the food was absolutely awful!!!!!! The special restaurants where you had to make a reservation to eat there never had openings. We tried to make reservations in advance for the whole week we were there and it was always booked full so we were forced to eat on the buffet for every meal and it was terrible!!!! We will NEVER go back to this resort again!!! It was such a disappointment!!!! First vacation we have ever been on that we lost weight!!

We stayed at Barceló Bávaro Beach for a 4-day adults-only weekend getaway. We received an upgrade to a premium room, which was a nice touch. The room was clean and comfortable, though fairly average and not particularly luxurious. The food was also average — decent variety, but overall just okay and not especially memorable. The beach and adults-only atmosphere were relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but more of an average experience rather than something exceptional.

The swim up room was a good choice for the view and ability to swim after the main pool closed. The room had a mildew smell so we let air in as much as we could. The over all hospitality was not great. Broken bed, safe broke, we couldn’t get towels for a day. We ended up doing a lot of self management that should have come with the room upgrade and just the basics. Our luggage was lost for 3 of the 5 days we were there and the assistance was minimal. Maybe a voucher to the gift shop of discount as I didn’t have any clothes would have been a nice gesture. The mini bar is more of a soda fridge with 4 beers and they failed to restock daily like they promote with the Premier level so we had to manage that as well. Food was good, lots of options and full access to the palace side of the resort with a train shuttle that runs every few minutes. It was a great way to get to the casino and club as well as the larger restaurant's. Overall, it was a beautiful resort however the operations side of the resort and staff could use a makeover. With that said the activities folks were fun and pleasant with the group activities at the main pool everyday. And when they say the suntan lotion costs $50 onsite, it’s very true!

The grounds were beautiful and the food was delicious except the seafood restaurant. The rooms were very outdated. The housekeeping was not good at all. And also the staff only a few are friendly. Everybody else just looks at you like you’re crazy Punta. Cana is beautiful but due to the experience of the people of the Dominican Republic and that was at the airport at the resort and on our excursion I would Never visit again

I loved my solo stay here at Barcelo! From the amazing staff checking me in whom made the process seamless and easy. To the preparation of the room and the cleanliness of the grounds and room I was placed in. I loved the many different cuisines that were available to choose from. They also had plenty of activities that I was able to choose from to enjoy my stay from relaxing beach days to choosing excursions or activities onsite. The most important was the staff was very welcoming and allowed me to enjoyed every moment while I was there. Greeted me with big smiles and great energy. I would definitely return here again! Made the stay feel like home for me.

Staff seemed disinterested. Room was okay... there was q-tip in my trash can when I checked in - that's not a huge deal but an indication that there is a lack of attention to detail. Shower also did not operate correctly. A la carte restaurants were poorly managed as well - restrictive booking yet there were empty tables. Food quality was also sub par at the a la carte restaurants. The buffet was great though - ate there most of the trip. Lot's of delicious options. But, again staff had to be reminded about simple things like "may I please have a coke" - would often take multiple requests to get the drink. Grounds were beautiful - well kept! Beach was beautiful as well but no service on the beach. If the price is right... not a bad place to stay. Resort is massive if you inlcude the Family side as well.
