Spectacular sunsets

Spectacular sunsets. The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was lovely, the pool was great and nice beachfront view. Service in the restaurant was very slow and prices were expensive, with only 2 options on the menu for dinner. Breakfast was nice. Need more sun loungers though!

It was a very nice stay. Excellent location and friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, this hotel is in a need of renovation and improvement in cleanliness. The room we stayed in had a mould on the bathroom ceiling. Lamps in the bedroom were also covered with mould and tick layer of dust. Paint on the bedroom ceiling was cracked. Doors around handles were dirty. Mosquito net was dusty. Air con looked mouldy. There was weird and loud sound coming from the pipes when we were flushing toilet. For the price hotel charges clients it should be spotless.

Disappointing

The rooms smelled strongly of mold. In the dining room, we were rudely awakened as we drank water from a water dispenser at dinner. It's like we're criminals. Contrary to what they promised was no children's playroom, no spa . in one room, no hot water, the service in the dining room was slow, not full of trays that emptied, and it was disappointing compared to the price we paid

Hotel Costello

Known among the locals as one of the nicer hotels - I had a wonderful stay here! It's not posh, no spa is involved but it is nice and comfortable the beach is super convenient as is the bus and some local shops. The people working there are shy but super sweet we had a gentleman who worked in maintenance offer us coconuts he would freshly pick and peel for us everyday of our stay. It was pretty ideal and the price was great. Also the pictures of the beach don't do it justice. I definitely recommend!

the hotel is okay

We booked a taxi from the airport through the hotel which never showed up. Just take one of the many local taxis at the airport, they're also much cheaper. The hotel's location is a bit remote, you should rent a car (expensive though). Nearby Lemuria Resort had closed down and Grand Anse has not much to offer, so you need to go across the entire Island to Anse Volbert for a beautiful beach and excellent restaurants. You can also take a local bus (very cheap) but need to take taxis after 6pm. Our room was very spacious and the hotel's location is very quiet. Unfortunately the mini-fridge and the aircondition (which barely worked) made a huge noise. Internet worked. It's nice to take a sunbath at the private beach and to swim in the pool, but the sea had huge waves, so you couldn't swim there safely (there are far better beaches with finer sand and shallow waves on the island). The breakfast was fine, but the two or three times we tried lunch or dinner at the restaurant we were disappointed. There are much better restaurants at Anse Volbert. The staff was disappointing - 2 of the 3 people at the reception were arrogant and unfriendly without reason and the waitresses were not motivated and apparently didn't like working there. Sad to see at an expensive 4* hotel. If you can avoid having any dealings with the staff and rent a car, I think it's a decent hotel to stay, especially if you look for a quiet location.

Good AVERAGE hotel.

Great average hotel. Loads of problems at meal times, Breakfast starts at 07h00, but food only gets set out at 07h30-08h00...Many food on Dinner menu was not available..think due to bad planning. Restaurant staff was not very friendly. Overall a comfortable stay, as we had a Family room, which was very spacious...good quiet location close to airport.

Hotel Needs lots of improvements

There are many issues with this hotel. 1. Staff not that friendly 2. Breakfast poor 3. Rooms with dead bugs 4. A/C not cooling because installed in the wrong spot of the room 5. Matress is the worst quality, it feels as if it is lop sided 6. Room windows do not have curtains, hard to sleep when sun is up

Mysigt ställe med stora rum. Rummet på markplan har en väldigt liten uteplats, inte så kul. Stort badrum med dubbla handfat, tyvärr endast takdusch. Fint poolområde med solsängar. Begränsad strand, trappa ner till vattnet. Kvällssol med solnedgång. God mat i restaurangen och bra service i övrigt. Med svenska mått mätt är detta ett 3-stjärnigt ställe.
