10 min of walking distance from the center

Generally nice hotel, clean, awesome breakfast and excellent placement. The room I had was quite small and there were no drawers, to at least put some stuff in. No safe box either. Not even at the Reception did they have a safe to fit my laptop in, so I had to leave it at the reception desk with a sticker on it, which happened to be fine, but still... It also doesn't have air conditioning. In Prague one rarely needs air conditioning, but these days there were 32 oC (90 F) and it was hardly needed.

Weekend in Prague, good location of the hotel, but the parking was really expensive (about 25eur per day), it isn't a modern hotel, but clean, with great breakfests.

The hotel itself and the staff were great with the exception of when we were checking in. We had made an online booking and the guy was very rude and dismissive. This was the only thing bad about our stay. The rest of the staff were helpful and can speak English. Its close to a mall with lots of shops.

great location with its price. 15 minutes walk to old town and tram stations close by. Breakfast is nice. Room is clean and the wifi is high speed and very smooth. Grocery store and couple diners are nearby. However, in late night I could hear noise on the hall way, probably from people staying next rooms. Also, there was someone smoking in the room. It'd be great to know how to adjust the heater.

Beds were uncomfortable, pills were flat and the TV only had channels in Czech language. 4 star rated but I'd say it was more like a 2.5-3 stars. Staff wasn't the friendliest but could have been the language barrier. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying there if you are looking for 4 stars.

Room was very basic, but it did the job and was very clean. Conveniently located next to starbuck, walking distance to the scenic old town. The free breakfast was was good and had loads of options. Delicious warm and cold breakfasts choices, and desserts. Gym is pay-per-use and they not open early on weekends :( call the hotel to ask for the hours. If you get a room with a door to the balcony, check to make sure it locks. The first room they gave me had a broken handle, so anyone could come in to steal my stuff. Thankfully i found this problem right away, took a picture with my phone, and reported it to the front desk. They gave me a new room right away.

No Iron even on reception to iron the shirts. I had to go to the hotel across the street to borrow the one. I've been told that parking is 50 CZK / day and It was 50 CZK / hour, so I had to leave the underground garage as Mr. Bean :) After being asked to pay 800 CZK.

There are Better Options

This hotel offers a few amenities, all for free: you get to hear the tv of the neighbor in the next room thru the paper-thin walls, you can eat breakfast in a room that feels like a school cafeteria, and you get to listen to the trams going by (even from the 5th floor with your doors and curtains closed) while you try to sleep. Also for free was disinterested staff, smell of smoke everywhere, and spotty wifi. In all seriousness, this hotel does have a really good location, but it was offset by the sterile and Cold War vibe thru the hotel and the other freebies mentioned above.

Visited Prague as part of our trip to Vienna and Budapest. The service provided at the other two hotels were much better than AXA in Prague and they were in better location, nearer the main train station.

Hotel Axa is a decent hotel. There is nothing special about either it or the service provided, but having said that there isn't a lot to complain about either. The most disappointing thing for me and my wife was that we booked a double room and upon arrival realised this meant two single beds put together. Thus, there was a fair sized gap between the two mattresses which didn't make for the best night sleep for a couple. The shower head was also only mounted about a foot above the bath which I found strange and meant that you have to hold it up while you take a shower. Although that is a minor inconvenience to be fair. Apart from that the room and hotel in general were in good condition and quite modern looking. The service behind the front desk felt like the bare minimum required most of the time with a couple of exceptions, but the staff were in no way rude at any point (just not particularly friendly either). Overall a very average experience in my opinion.
