This is a lovely, well-maintained home with amazing views. The kitchen has nearly everything you might need, just add the edible ingredients. The host was very responsive when we couldn't find the house (more on that below) and had other questions that weren't covered in their binder of information. This property is far out - hence the amazing views - but further than we anticipated. It was quite unsettling when GPS stopped before we found the house but turned out we just needed to stay on the path a little further. Once in the house, everything was fine. We had a delightful stay.

We had a wonderful stay. This property was clean, comfortable, and very well-appointed. The location was great, and we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the outdoor spaces. Even saw a wild horse grazing near the house!Would recommend most highly!

Beautiful, professionally managed, tastefully decorated. The hot tub wasn't all that; it is out on a dirt area. The area for the dog is not fully fenced. The last bit of the road in was pretty rough. But I would definitely recommend.

This is one of the absolute best VRBOs we’ve had the opportunity to visit over the past decade. It is similar to a boutique hotel in appearance and amenities. The home is state-of-the art, modern, clean, well furnished and well appointed. We (2 senior adults) stayed for 4 days and 3 nights, and wished we had booked longer. It is very quiet and peaceful, with amazing views and excellent star gazing. It is a short drive down the mountain to a small commercial area with a coffee shop, convenience store, pizza, and a restaurant. It was a pleasant drive to both Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Beautiful home and so quiet!Perfect for a guys golf trip..we had such a restful stay at Hillside Haven. The absolute quiet was so wonderful! Only the sound was birds and the wind. Everything we needed was in the home. The easy access to I25 made our day trip to Santa Fe so easy.

So impressed by this southwest haven surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is spacious and accommodated us, children and adults, with everything we needed for a perfect stay. Would definitely love to rent it again next trip.

Wonderful Retreat

Brought the family (3 adult couples) to New Mexico for Albuquerque Inernational Ballonfest. Location is just what we wanted remote with beautiful mountain views but still easy access to Albequerque abd even Sante Fe

Beautiful home and so quiet!

My sister and I had such a restful stay at Hillside Haven. The absolute quiet was so wonderful! Only the sound was birds and the wind. Everything we needed was in the home. The easy access to I25 made our day trip to Santa Fe so easy.

Peace and Sunrises

Beauty and calmness...that is what you can expect while staying here. Oh...and wild horses!! We loved the sunrises right over the back ridge every morning. One of the best and the owners..well i consider them friends now.

Wonderful - Highly Recommend!

My daughter & I went to NM for her Region 3 Gymnastics competition in Albuquerque. We wanted to stay outside of the city, but close enough to tourist attractions that we could easily experience: Old Town Alb., Santa Fe, local hiking, & horseback riding w/minimal travel. The home itself could not have had a better feel. We absolutely loved it. The advertised pictures are true to what you will find. We slept upstairs & the beds were very comfortable. It was extremely quiet (only 1 day that we could hear the wind) and very relaxing!! There were two neighbors 'nearby' but we never saw or heard them. We don't watch TV, so I can't speak to the available channels. We DID see the wild mustangs, right outside the front door, the morning we were heading out for my daughters meet - very cool. ***Just a few heads up: 1st - cell phone coverage is spotty (I have Verizon) 2nd - I live in a 'similar' topography in CO & am always driving 20 - 40 min to wherever I am going, so it was an easy/ expected commute for us to experience Albuquerque & surrounding areas. 3rd - the last 150 yds to the house IS dirt road that switchbacks up the hillside. Again this was just fine for us, because we too live on a hillside w/ a dirt road. However, I would caution that if you rent in the winter/snow months, know the final turn into the driveway is not for the faint of heart - especially if icey. Please don't let these FYI's discourage you - just be aware and manage your expectation. WE LOVED IT!!!

Spring break getaway

Our family so enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space for our family of five with a great set up for family dinners, movie nights, morning coffee with a view, or just relaxing. The home was so clean and has everything you need. We enjoyed that it was a bit off the beaten path and the wonderful quiet at the house. We used the home as our base for exploring both Albuquerque and Santa Fe and it was easy to access both. The hosts were attentive and made the check in/check out process incredibly easy.

Spectacular Views

Hillside Haven Retreat is absolutely amazing. The home was super clean and extremely well equipped. The views are spectacular and it was remote enough to watch the stars at night and close enough to the city. We were able to watch the wild horse of Placitas just behind the house. It literally is the place to relax.

Our family had a wonderful time at this serene property. It is tucked away in Placitas with wonderful views of the area. The home had plenty of space for me, my wife and two young children. They enjoyed having their own rooms and exploring the area. Would stay again!

Beautiful property

Stayed here with a friend to explore Santa Fe and Albuquerque. What an amazing place! Highly recommend! The property is super private and easy to find with Google Maps. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nice, clean, and roomy. Enjoyed the al fresca dining table for breakfast and the upstairs balcony for star gazing at night. Never had any real reason to reach out to the host -- only reached out once to ask how I can fill the hummingbird feeder :D They thought of everything! Seriously. One thing to pass on though: If you're allergic to sulfur, don't drink the tap water, buy bottled water instead.

Amazing views and perfect design

The home in Placitas gives the traveler a true escape in a very special place. From wild horses, quaint drives, hummingbirds and sunset walks- we enjoyed this place immensely. The home is beautifully designed with modern nods to the traditional southwest. The bedrooms are perfect for a family. The space was so comfortable to spend time together with lots of seating and the beautiful deck. If you want to soak into a true southwest experience this place has it all! The house is very close to a major shopping and food area and very close to Santa Fe.
