This property is perfect for a family getaway, romantic escape, adventure basecamp, solo retreat, or even a working vacation.
Includes 75" Smart TV, Wi-Fi, wood burning stove, many board games, colored pencils & coloring books, pool table, dart board, ping pong table, cornhole, Karaoke machine, well stocked kitchen, towel warmer, hammocks on the deck and in the trees, one garage space, and ample parking.
Enjoy STAR GAZING or morning coffee on the WRAP AROUND DECK. Large picture windows maximize your views of hills, pastures, and wildlife from the warmth of a modern home. There is an ABUNDANCE OF WILDLIFE including many species of birds, and squirrels. Elk can be seen grazing the hillside and even come right up to the deck.
There is a wood swing and many comfortable chairs and hammocks on the large wrap around deck to enjoy some relaxing porch sitting and the gravity chairs are perfect for taking in the magnificent night sky.
Timberwolf Lodge and our homestead are surrounded by 2 acres of forest. The rental unit is an entire house with its own entrances, garage, dedicated outdoor space and parking.
The house and kitchen are fully stocked with everything from an abundance of towels and shower essentials to baking ware and cooking supplies. We provide creamer, coffee beans, keurig, teas, sugar, artificial sweetener, salt and pepper, and cooking oils. We try to keep ketchup and mustard stocked, but it is best to bring your own additional condiments. We also provide Artesian Sedona water for drinking/cooking but the water from the tap is perfectly safe.
A little convenience store in the garage is stocked with snacks, bacon, local Lyman Ranch beef, fresh homestead eggs and our incredible homebaked cookies. Check the top of the stairs for art and fun merch for sale. Firewood next to the woodstove is also available for purchase.
Let us know if you need anything specific for your stay! Give us a few days notice before your arrival if you would like to add on smore kits, a fresh loaf of Brioche, your favorite cookies, or special cuts of local beef. Visit timber-wolf.carrd.co for a sample of menu items and packages offerred.
We (the owners) live in a separate dwelling on-site with our friendly dog, so we're nearby to assist with additional needs, information, or possible emergencies, but we give our guests their privacy and typically only interact if needed. However, our friendly pup Bean loves to make new friends and will likely greet you and visit during your stay. Sometimes we are away from the property entirely but we will let you know.
Check out our social media to learn more about us, Timberwolf Homestead, our pup Bean, and the lodge @timberwolf_homestead and tag us during your stay! Timberwolf Homestead is our home next door to the rental unit and includes a home bakery, plant nursery, bee hive and chicken coop. You will hear Henry the rooster crowing sometimes.
AWD or 4-wheel drive is recommended during harsh weather conditions. A portion of the access is a steep dirt road.
The front door is up the stairs to the deck. Your door code is required to access (sent on date of arrival).
Take note that cell service is spotty in this area and only wifi calling from the house is reliable.
There is an additional list of Welcome tips, instructions, and recommendations about the property and the surrounding area to the right of the front door when you step into the foyer. To have access to the app (Alladin) that opens the garage from outside, you will need to provide the host with a preferred email.
Please also note that while the woodstove is open for use, Josh, the owner/manager, will have no problem assisting you in getting it started or putting the fire out as desired. Matches and starter kindling are provided but the wood fuel is for-sale-only.
PLEASE INQUIRE ABOUT PETS. This unit is pet friendly. $75 Per dog (small, medium, large). We ask that you please do not leave your pet(s) unattended in the house. If you absolutely must, then please bring a crate and keep them in a non-carpeted room.

ADVENTURES & LOCAL ATTRACTIONS:
Visit Tonto Natural Bridge (7 miles away) and plenty of other trails close by.
Water Wheel Falls (15 miles away) is our favorite easy to access water with gorgeous waterfalls and is great for kids.
If your are ready for a big hike, Bob Bear Trailhead (2.2 miles away) takes you to Fossil Springs and rewards you with beautiful cave of bright aqua blue water. It's 4 miles down hill to the water and 4 miles back up the hill to get out. Water and electrolytes are highly recommended.
The Strawberry strip is just 2 miles from the house. We highly reccommend eating at Fossil Creek Farm, Pie Bar and getting the monster pizza at Momma Joes. Unwind and meet some Strawberry locals at Sportsman Chalet. They have cold beer, a great Bison burger, and the Wineburger also comes highly recommened.
Pine Downtown is just 5.5 miles from the house and offers great options like THAT Brewery, Old County Burger, Old County Inn, and definitely check out the Pine-Strawberry Farmers market open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You can find our cookies freshly baked from Timberwolf Homestead there! The Pine Creek Lavender Farm is a lovely spot to visit as well. Ponderosa Market in Pine has a large selection of basic necessities, firewood, alcohol, and groceries.
Want to check out a bar in the woods?! Below the Rim Meadery is worth the trip! Be sure to approach from Houston Mesa Rd near Payson. Google can take you on a nearly impassable route through the forest roads.
It's a scenic 1 hour drive to Woods Canyon Lake, where you can rent a variety of watercraft and enjoy being out on the lake. We love to rent a canoe and explore the trails along the shore with our pup. Both Woods Canyon Lake and Willow Springs Lake are great for fishing or swimming off the shore.
Knoll Lake is known for having very clean and clear water. It is a longer, more adventurous trip on a dirt road, but it's one of our favorite spots.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a balcony. There's space to spread out with 4 bedrooms and a dining area. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a coffee maker, and an ironing board.

Great for teens - plenty to entertain! There were a ton of daddy long legs but after some Tictok education, the teen girls calmed down. You leave them alone, they leave you alone (it's a cabin after all!) Comfortable accommodations, spacious kitchen, enjoyed it tremendously! (Elk everyday!)

Nice place to spend a few days
We are all in our 70s and really enjoyed our stay. We played cards every evening and corn hole in the afternoon . Nice close location to restaurants and shopping. Enjoyed the elk in the evenings. Very peaceful and relaxing here. Would definitely return.

Great Quiet Getaway
We looked for a place that would be a little out of town and that would accommodate us and our two dogs. This location checked all the boxes. I worked a couple of days remotely and never had any issues with the Internet. This location also had a great view as it was off the side of a hill. We always love seeing wildlife whenever we stay in Pine or Strawberry, so we were excited when we saw the elk on the property. This property has a beautiful wraparound deck that you can enjoy… We played cards and just hung out.. it also has a couple of game rooms in the basement that include ping-pong, a pool table, and darts. We did not utilize the game room this time… We did take note that this would be a great place to bring the rest of our family because of these activities that you can take advantage of. In the game room/garage where the ping-pong table was it was also a little concierge service area that had a refrigerator and a portable freezer. The refrigerator had some homemade goodies, sparkling water, and eggs fresh from their farm. TheseIf you so chose to do so. In the freezer, they had different types of bacon that could also be purchased. I thought this was perfect since it was a little out of town and not as convenient to get to a store. We are frequent visitors to Pine and strawberry as they are close to our home in Apache Junction and we will definitely book this cabin in the future Josh Megan and Lynn were all amazing and very responsive.

Amazing View and Helpful Hosts!
Where do I start? Amazing views! Beyond comfortable cabin. Lots of room to spread out and enjoy the pines. This cabin sits on it's own street with wildlife freely roaming. Close to Momma Joe's Pizza and Fresh Pies next door. Josh, Megan and Bean were helpful, accommodating and wonderful! We highly recommend these hosts and cabin for your stay. Bring your poochs here! This cabin has it all! Josh and Megan have thought of every detail for your stay from towel warmers to a huge selection of coffee and hot chocolate! They also have a Porch Store for you to purchase homemade goods (Megan is an exceptional baker) or stuff you forgot. Bonus: you are helping support a small and local business! We plan on making this a once a year vacation! Cheers guys! You exceeded our expectations and a thank you to Miss Bean for showing Flower and Flash around!

We loved everything about our stay
This was a great place to stay! All 3 of us agreed, this was an awesome place. We had fun talking on the deck, playing pool, dartboard and ping pong. And it was a great base camp for seeing the sights. Wish we could’ve had a campfire, but that was out of everyone’s control. All in all, it was fabulous!! Thanks Josh, and Meghan for the delicious cookies. We hope to come back someday!

The hosts were amazing in communication and having the location prepared. A special guest greeted us (Bean) and she was a lovely dog to have come and go - we are a dog family. The location was excellent as you woke up and went to bed with amazing valley views and wildlife on the commute in and out. Will absolutely stay there again if the opportunity presents.

A fantastic secluded stay
From start to finish, the hosts were amazing. They were friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and well-prepared. They were responsive to our questions, swift to respond and very understanding.
After some initial questions and messaging with the hosts, we booked through the app with absolutely no problems. Upon our arrival the house itself was wonderful, very comfortable, well-decorated, and surprisingly well-stocked with the little things you don't think of until you get there. The house was beautiful and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some mountain serenity.
We had a couple more messages for the hosts after we arrived - we had a couple family members arriving later and had some questions that were answered almost immediately.
The hosts live close by in case of problems, but respected our privacy through out the whole visit.
We look forward to coming back for another visit and would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the pines.

Great getaway
It's a great unit, particularly for families. Be aware there there is a full flight of steps from the parking/garage area to the main part of the house. You would need four-wheel drive to get to the upper level/back of the house. The third bedroom and game room were on the lower level - so stairs involved. And the roads in to the unit are very bumpy - but worth the drive. We saw elk several times every day. The home was very well appointed - we wanted for nothing. We were 4 retired ladies, so this was all a bit much for us - but we still had a great time. Thanks so much for sharing the home with us.

We’ll Be Back
My dad, brother, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle and my little dog counted the days until our two-night stay here. And it didn’t disappoint. After several really tough years that included the passing of my mom, this was the first time my family saw me happy. I can attribute much of that to all of the games provided — taking us back to our childhood of competition for me and my brother. We are currently planning for a return in the fall.

Great forest retreat
Overall our family of 4 plus one dog really enjoyed this place!
It is very secluded, and has a couple of very steep roads to get to it. So definitely seems like you'd need a good vehicle depending on road conditions. We went in July so it wasn't an issue.
It has a great wrap-around balcony that was very fun to sit on and enjoy the cooler temperatures and amazing views.
Game room was a hit. Kitchen is well stocked. Family room and kitchen area was nice open area that everyone could hang out.
Only complaint was pro/con of the dog friendly nature of this rental, it seemed (smell wise) like another guests pet(s) may have marked in the master bedroom previously.
