Just OK

When we arrived (girlfriend and 4 year old daughter), we were greeted by friendly staff which was great and at first glance the room/hotel was also great. There were a few let downs but we did not argue/complain as the cost was relatively cheap and we are generally easy going people. Im afraid the worst bit for us was the beds & pillows - they were extremely firm and did not give a good night sleep at all. I hate to say but towards the end of the holiday, I dreaded going to bed. You would also definitely need a car as there are minimal things to do in the immediate area. Pool was also green with rubbish in and looked as if no attention had been paid to it for months. I dont want to go on complaining so ill sum it up by saying its OK and if your looking for something cheap and cheerful, then its worth considering.

We used it as a base to travel the cafeteria saved us because nearby restaurants are rare There seems to be tour buses there in the off season and they open the restaurant for them only

Handy for Santander ferry port

After a marathon drive across Spain it was with relief that we arrived at the hotel. It is ideally situated about 12k from the port. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was for the price. Our room was spotlessly clean with everything you would need for a mini break.

For only €60 a night, good value. Nice view, but you'll need a car/cab to get anywhere ...its in the country. 10min drive from the beach. Room good size...hotel is old, but clean. Bed uncomfortable.

Recommended for first night after ferry crossing

Not as easy to find as we expected, when just arriving from ferry in Santander so unused to roads and driving in Spain,so it took us a while to find it but this was not a problem. The hotel had beautiful view across the valley. The location was a bit out of the way,in the middle of newish build houses, but this suited us fine. Very good local restaurant close by, which was popular with the locals. Self catering is perfect for us due to special dietary requirements.

Out of the way Hotel in bad need of renovation

This is a country side Hotel in the outskirts of Santander. It really needs renovation. We were unlucky since a huge group was there and the Hotel services were collapsed including breakfast. Not a nice experience.

Good Hotel with good facilities

This is a good apartment hotel for a family with small kids. A hire car is a must if you want to go to the tourist areas of Santander as it would probably get expensive and restricting using Taxis to get back and forth. Overall a decent hotel but obviously dont expect five star facilities. Kids room kept the kids entertained and the night entertainment was very good too.

A beautiful oasis away.

Our corner room with private garden was spacious, clean and comfortable with a very nice view overlooking the river. The small kitchenette was a welcome blessing, with a refrigerator, range, and some basic cooking implements. The outdoor pools were still quite cool for the season, but the indoor pool turned out to be comfortably heated. The buffet dinner was pricey, but not overly so given the vast amount of choices and the comparatively cheap and tasty house wine. One dish that stood out as exceptionally delicious was the 'twice baked mussels', or that's what I'll call them at least. Unfortunately there is no surrounding splendor to go with this great place. The nearest restaurant was 1.5km away, nearest supermarket was 2km away, and that's a very generous term for this mini convenience store. A really fantastic place to come and relax if only to get away from everywhere else.

Nice hotel full of kids making noise until midnigh

This is a family hotel for young children. We had a one night stop over waiting for the ferry from Santander. So not that bothered. Great views and location for beaches. The apartment set up was ideal for catering for difficult or fussy diets. The outside pool could of done with a clean but all in all no problems.

A pleasant surprise

We used this as an overnight stop, but could imagine it would be a good base for several days or a week exploring Santander and region. It was excellent value with a fairly well equipped kitchen (though we didn't use it) as well as living area with sofa bed and comfy separate bedroom. The bathroom had a real bath too! We didn't try the gym or the indoor (heated) or outdoor (unheated) pools because they are open from 10 only, so don't really work well with an overnight stop. Buffet restaurant on site for evening meal and breakfast was good value (kids half price).

No frills but ideal stop before or after the ferry

We were travelling from the costa blanca to santander for a ferry crossing and booked this to enable us to travel whilst the children slept (eventually) and to give us the morning relaxing rather than doing it all in one go. The initial impression of the hotel was disappointing as when we checked in at midnight, there was no cot as requested, and the third pull out bed was not made nor bedding provided. The porter was very helpful and resolved it swiftly and even relayed my dissatisfaction to the morning reception staff. The room was basic but comfortable and slept the 4 (2 adults 2 children) of us easily, there was a tv which worked but the kitchenette was very basic without a kettle or toaster (there was a microwave). The breakfast was a continental without any frills so I wouldn't pay the extra especially if you are travelling prepared with a few nibbles and enough to make a cuppa (using the microwave for hot water!). The overall winner was the pool, it was a real treat to find an indoor heated swimming pool to keep my 3yr old occupied until we needed to get the ferry. The hotel is located about 10/15mins drive from the port but even with sat nav we couldn't find it, the post code took us to the near by chalet village however luckily a taxi driver who let us follow him. the hotel didn't charge for the cot and gave us a late check out to apologise for the mistakes they had made. All in all I would probably look for elsewhere but if budget dictated I would go back.

Cold indoor pool - otherwise nice stay

The indoor pool very cold for young children. Location was easy to find if driving & very convienent to Santander. We ate in hotel both nights. Food was adaquate. Breakfast was also standard. Overall good value.
