Claire and Fritz are excellent hosts! From our first friendly greeting and intro to the property by Fritz to hugs goodbye when we left we could not have had a better vacation! The cabin is situated in such a beautiful location with impressive views over Lake Skaha. We watched many lovely sunsets from the deck areas. The cabin is super clean and it is clear that everything has been thought of for a home away from home stay. The bedroom feels luxurious and cosy at the same time, with a very comfortable bed and bedding. We stayed in shoulder season where the temperature was up and down. We didn’t need to use the a/c in the bedroom but it was nice to know it was there. We did use the heating for a couple of evenings and the cabin was cosy in no time! With such close proximity to Penticton and surrounding areas but with such a secluded feel, given its location at the literal end of the road, makes for a very special holiday destination.Thank you again Claire and Fritz!

What a gem of a place and setting!
Holy Cow!
Claire and Fritz were fantastic, and the cottage and location went well beyond our expectations! Peekoe (owners dog) is such a sweetie. The cottage is of log construction, and kept perfectly clean (very important to us) and well stocked. Tons of windows, most with views of the lake or landscaping. Large, furnished deck faces the lake.
Our stay was at the end of June so we enjoyed fresh strawberries from the garden and herbs from various patches. The vast landscaping is both meticulous and artistic. Sun or shade is available at all times of the day. The views stunning, the bed VERY comfortable. Hardly a man made sound distracted from the humming birds, quails and myriad of birdsong.
Penticton is perfectly located: far enough that you feel the urban setting, and close enough that needs and wants don’t require planning to get.
In town, we can highly recommend visiting Claire’s shop, Teas and Weaves. Their many travels to the Far East are reflected in the unique wares she has for sale. Reasonable prices for truly one-of-a-kind gifts and mementos.
Our regret: that we couldn’t stay longer.

The cottage and grounds were beyond our expectations.
From the moment the gate swings open to this delightful retreat we fell in love with the beautiful yard, garden and spiffy cottage. The kitchen is well stocked. The cottage is super clean and cozy. We took advantage of the offer to help ourselves to produce from the garden. Whether perched inside with a cup of tea, or outside on the front porch with an evening glass of wine, the views of the beautifullly maintained grounds and delicious silence are addictive. The resident canine is a bundle of love and fun. We are already planning our next visit.

Sublime!
Truly a piece of heaven set in a Monet painting. The location is beautiful beyond words, the cabin is cozy and charming (in all the best ways), the organic garden is yours for the picking, and it all comes with the most charming of hosts, Claire, Fritz, and their Border Collie, Pekoe. We came for the wine country but ended up spending two of our days just hanging out with Pekoe because it was all so perfect - can't wait to go back!

Absolutely fabulous....
The most relaxing stay we’ve had in years. The hosts Claire and Fritz are wonderful people and they’ve done a magnificent job refurbishing the original orchard pickers cabin into a cozy rustic abode filled with many unique treasure finds from their world travels. The near-180 degree uninterrupted view of Skaha Lake from the cabin’s covered porch welcomed us every day and was thoroughly enjoyed every evening with a glass of wine while watching the sun set behind the Western hills. Once that occurred, the lights of Penticton to the North and Kaleden to the South were reflected on the calm lake water most evenings. The cabin, located a few feet from a lush working vineyard, has a certain charm that captures your attention and wraps itself around you comfortably. The immaculate landscaping around the cabin and vineyard helps highlight several abandoned antique farm/vineyard machines, some of which required explanations from the hosts as to their function, which we found to be quite educational.
A 10 minute walk from the cabin places you at the base of a climbing route in Skaha Bluffs Provincial Park which contains numerous world-class climbing opportunities. A 10 minute drive finds you at the Okanagan Lake lakefront and the newly renovated Main Street shopping area.
The cabin was fully furnished and spacious with pretty much everything that we needed to make meals and close enough to enjoy Penticton and the surrounding areas. Can’t forget to mention the hosts’ extremely friendly border collie Pekoe that was an absolute adorable asset to making our stay at Vintage View thoroughly enjoyable.
We also now have a much better appreciation on the hard work and dedication required in maintaining a vineyard thanks to Fritz’s willingness to take the time to chat and answer our many inquisitive questions. Each glass of wine we have now has a whole new perspective. And lastly, be sure to check out Claire’s shop downtown Penticton "Teas and Weaves", that has so many interesting items from around the globe and lots of fabulous teas to choose from. Peppermint chocolate makes a great after dinner tea.
We plan to return again soon.

A Place of Tranquility
The setting for this cottage is great as it overlooks Skaha Lake. Whether sitting on the large deck or at the side of the cottage, there is always either sunshine or shade, depending on the time of day. The surrounding vineyards and garden add to the sense of serenity. The decor inside the cottage, including wool carpets and handmade carvings and tapestries etc, add to the experience.
A great place to stay. Fritz and Claire are friendly and helpful.

A truly beautiful vacation spot.
Everything about this vintage cottage was truly beautiful!!! The cottage is really unique with all the decorating from around the world that Claire & Fritz have discovered and shared. The cottage is also very well equiped with everything a person feels they need. The view of the grounds that are immacuately kept, and the view from the front of the cottage overlooking Skaha Lake is breathtaking.Claire & Fritz are very warm and welcoming to make you feel right at home. There is a vegetable garden right outside the back cottage door, that you can just help yourself to and enjoy. I would highly recommend this vintage cottage getaway, and am looking forward to returning again. There is also the added entertainment of Pekoe the border collie.

Lovely welcoming home away from home
We spent 6 very enjoyable days here in August. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the property had everything we needed (apart from an iron which was promptly loaned to us for a few days). The views are stunning, but the property is only 10 minutes from Penticton, making it easy for shopping or restaurants and sightseeing. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a character property in which to relax.

A wonderful first impression that lasted all week long
We stayed at Vintage View Cottage in June 2016 for 7 nights. When we drove into the property we were immediately impressed by the beauty of the vineyard, the large trees, the flowers, and the view of Lake Skaha. We had the feeling that this would be the little oasis we were hoping for and we were not disappointed in any way. Fritz greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is very comfortable, cozy, and clean. The description on VRBO matched the property well. It is also has a well equipped kitchen, bathroom, and new washer and dryer. Fritz and Claire were friendly and warm throughout our stay. We never felt out of place on their property and we had plenty of privacy. Overall, we would highly recommend this vacation rental and hope to return in the future.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Vintage View Cottage for the first week of September and it was nothing less than spectacular. The Cottage felt like home, Claire and Fritz were wonderful hosts and our morning visits from Pekoe while sipping our coffee on the deck was a great way to start our day. The vineyard is stunning and the view is world class. I would absolutely recommend staying at the Vintage View Cottage! You won't be disappointed!

Vintage View Cottage
We So enjoyed our stay at Vintage View Cottage. We found it a wonderful place to relax, write, hike, climb, play games, cook and enjoy wine with friends. The beautiful views, the vineyards, the trail, the rocks and even the fabulous rusty old relics that adorned the property made for excellent photo opps. We didn't even need to go off property to have a great vacation get away. But did one day, to check out Penticton's shopping and it's golf courses only moments away. Teas and Weaves a wonderful place too! Very well equipped, clean, fabulous friendly hosts. We'd recommend it to all our friends. Loved it. We'll be back. :)

Pastoral gem
This accommodation is in a beautiful setting amidst a vineyard and overlooking Skaha lake. The cottage is well equipped, very comfortable, clean and aesthetically lovely. An herb garden borders the patio outside the kitchen. The host couple were very hospitable and always sought to make our holiday a special experience. They were generous in sharing their delightful border collie Pekoe with us for a session of fetch or two. We always felt we had a great deal of privacy and the amusements of town and lakeside were a short drive down a little used road. We would feel very fortunate if we were able to manage another visit in future.

Skaha Bliss
Above, the Skaha Bluffs, below in the middle distance Skaha Lake and the hills to its west, all around a vineyard and rolling lawns on the gentle west-facing slope. At the centre, a 100 year old log cabin, windows and views everywhere. The cabin has been beautifully restored, furnished and equipped, and recently a new wing skillfully added providing a glorious master bedroom.
Not easy to list or to rank all the attractions of this jewel of the Okanagan Valley. Location, location, location, the cabin, and, especially, the owners, Claire and Fritz. Claire was away during our stay and Fritz was a wonderful host: very welcoming and hospitable; strongly connected to the land, the garden, the vines, and to the entire Valley; and very happy to talk with us about the amazing history of his and Claire’s settlement and development of the property.
When we travel and stay awhile in one place, we like to rent a house. This late September visit to the Okanagan was to taste and purchase some of the wines from several of the newly established producers. This was hugely enjoyable, as was our stay amidst Claire and Fritz’s vines. A great place and great hosts. We’ll be back. Try it!

The cabin has an excellent view, being located above the Skaha lake in Penticton, the setting are perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay, with vine, trees and many birds populating the yard. You can practically admire the valley and Penticton by night from the height of your bed in the large bedroom. The guest house is suited for two adults plus an extra couple for a short stay, but we found it perfect for a family with kids. we have a two and a half year old daughter and I think children could enjoy playing a real huge "backyard" or benefit of a lazy afternoon in a hammock.

Vintage Holiday
There is so much to experience in Penticton in the summer months and Vintage View is the perfect starting and end point to your day. Morning coffee and breakfast on the deck overlooking the natural beauty of the vineyard and lake, hike, run or bike ride before peak sun and then cool off with a swim in one of the nearby lakes (short drive away). Or simply take a break from it all and relax at the cottage with a book and beverage. A wonderful place and the owners were very welcoming!

Perfect Vacation Destination! Do yourself a favour and book this place!!!
We had the good fortune of being the very first guests of this lovely cottage in June. Let me start by commenting on the spectacular setting. There just couldn't be a more picturesque place to stay in the Okanagan. We were on a vineyard overlooking beautiful Skaha Lake with the amazing bluffs behind us. The lights of the city reflect off the water in the evening and the sound of the country surround you…but town is only 10 minutes away.
With respect to the cottage…prepare to fall in love with the beautiful cedar log house. The whole house is beautifully furnished and decorated with art from all over the world. The entire place was extremely clean and cared for. The views from the kitchen, bedroom and living room are breathtaking. The bedroom is very spacious with a sliding door onto the deck, a heavenly mattress, and a walk-in closet. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need. The bathroom is also stocked…all you need to bring is your toothbrush and toothpaste and everything else is there waiting for you. The veranda has a barbecue, patio table and chairs, and your very own herb garden. Given that we were half an hour away from the wine routes in Oliver and in Naramata we spent most evenings on the veranda sipping wine and relaxing. We spent every morning with our coffee on the patio looking over the vineyards and the lake and listening to the birds chirping around us. Our hosts were kind enough to share their vegetable garden, with fresh kale, spinach, lettuce, strawberries, etc. Also, we had our in-laws come to stay with us for a few nights and they slept comfortably in the loft so four people can be accommodated.
Our hosts, Claire and Fritz, live on the property and provided just the right amount of privacy and presence to make us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. When we needed some recommendations for things to do in the area they were full of excellent suggestions and tips. We went on hikes around the bluffs, went to the beach at Skaha Lake which was 5 minutes away, and lunched at local wine farms and on the waterfront. We also enjoyed the Saturday morning Farmer's Market in Penticton. Claire and Fritz are incredibly hospitable and gracious and really bent over backwards to make our stay the best possible.
Do yourselves a huge favour and book this place as soon as you can. You will have a lovely holiday with many beautiful memories and will soon be writing a glowing review just as I am now.

Vintage View Cottage
The 3 night stay in July at the vintage view cottage exceeded our expectations! It was well equipped with everything you need, very clean, and decorated with the most amazing art objects from around the world. The cottage overlooked the lake, with the vineyard and the most incredible hiking and climbing trails behind.
Claire and Fritz were friendly, gracious and went out of their way to provide anything we needed.
We will return next year for sure, but for a longer stay as there is so much to enjoy in the area.
Thank you so much Fritz and Claire!
