So here’s the deal. No cockroaches in our room, which I was nervous about! Yes the room/hotel is a little rundown, but that’s expected at these old beach hotels. The view is insane!!! The balcony is beautiful. Note, there will be people smoking all sorts of “things” on the balcony; so you may have to close your door to the balcony. We were on the 7th floor and could hear the pool music loudly. But it wasn’t bad. We came here for my husband’s 40th birthday trip he loves this beach! The doors to the room don’t seal properly so you can hear everything in the hallway crystal clear. Check in was a breeze, checkout was a breeze! We stayed at the island hotel last time and that had more places within walking distance. Tom Thumb convenience store is about a 10 min walk. Stewby’s (amazing seafood) is about 15 min walk. You can also walk a mile and a half down the beach near the pier for more stuff. They have a great happy hour $5 margaritas. All the staff was so kind! Always smiling, laughing and happy. Cleaned our room daily! Which we appreciated, all the sand! You can rent chairs and an umbrella, we sprung for that our last day. Bed was decently comfy, tv small which we only used at night to unwind. They have a little restaurant/bar on the grounds and a small breakfast shop! We loved our stay!

This hotel had roaches in our bathroom and the only resolution they offered was to spray chemicals in our room or move rooms after we had already stayed a night and unpacked everything. They had a hidden fee for parking that was never seen during booking on orbitz, nor was it mentioned at check in. We paid cash for an incidentals deposit and they didn’t tell us they wouldn’t return the money until maintenance inspected our room during check out. We had a flight to catch and a rental car to return so it was highly inconvenient. Hotel cleaning staff was very friendly and serviced the room everyday, pool was clean and maintained, steps to the beach and chair/umbrella rentals were right next to the hotel. Hotel was centrally located to so many things and was easy to find.

The room we booked with gulf view and balcony is not what we got. Much smaller than what we requested. Promised 50% refund back but have not yet seen it. The beds were terrible. Refrigerator was not plugged in and room had a chemical smell.

They put us in a penthouse in 726 next to a smoking section of Cheech & Chong followers. The marijuana smoke was so strong. We had to switch rooms. They moved us to 312 because the hot water went out in the building D so we can take hot showers. Then they switched to two rooms 410 and 411 and the air-conditioning didn’t work. The stove didn’t work and it had roaches in both rooms when I checked out the lady was like why come you didn’t tell us about the roaches and the AC in the oven and I said well it takes 30+ minutes to pack a room up and then go all the way across the complex so it just wasn’t worth it anymore overall disappointing experience. We found one working ice machine out of four buildings and that is a challenge when you have little ones.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. I went when it was cold and out of season. I also was my birthday and the staff there made it one of the best birthdays I have had. I would stay again.

First off the place is beautiful and its location on the beach is perfect. But…….there are roaches. Killed several in my room. Many many reviews stating this and still nothing has been done. It’s an utter shame. I don’t know what an exterminator costs but it’s gotta be cheaper than the business this place will lose over the roaches. Man just get it fixed!!!

Greeted by helpful staff. Only renovated! Hot water and pressure is unbelievable! Stunning ocean view rooms. Has an arcade heated pool outdoor hottub! Gorgeous beaches! Restaurant an bar on site. Drinks on point!
