Beautiful view of the beach and very pretty resort in spite of some maintenance being done to one building

The apartment was clean and fresh! Beds are great and plenty of room for personal belongings. The people upstairs were loud walkers and this was a bit annoying in the evenings when trying to get to sleep. Also, the building light attached to the wall outside the master bedroom makes it impossible to make the bedroom dark with the blinds. Highly recommend getting that solved. Super new, clean, and comfy outside these things.

I booked a deluxe villa, king bed with an ocean view. When we got into our room there were a couple of major issues with it. I found out at the front desk of the Omni that the units are individually owned and that they only managed them. This unit was not acceptable and I asked if they could move us to another room with a king bed and ocean view like I booked. This was the first time I have ever asked for another room and my husband and I have stayed in a lot of hotels. The supervisor at the desk was very nice and gave us another room in the same building (second away from the Omni resort) and a couple floors higher with a king bed and ocean view and a bigger unit that had just been upgraded last year. It turns out it was a suite! After we got into the new room everything was wonderful and we enjoyed the beach, pool and other amenities of the Omni. All the staff at the Omni were outstanding! One note, at the Villas you may not get everything that the resort fee is suppose to provide like bottled water in the room. However, you can always grab some at the resort.

The Florida House Inn has quite the historic charm. If you are looking for modern amenities other than air conditioning and indoor plumbing, this is probably not the place for you. If you want a nice quiet getaway with some very rich (over 150 years) history, then this is the place. The Green Turtle Tavern, right next door, has live music on weekends so it is a little loud until 11pm Fri/Sat and 10pm Sun. If that’s not on your getaway punch card, again maybe not for you. We had a fun time sitting on the front porch, with our own cocktails, and people watching. You can also sit down on the back patio around the mermaid fountain for a slightly quieter get together. You can also make friends with the resident kitties if they will allow it. If you know cats, you know what I mean. The black cat, Mama, is the sweetest. The Mermaid Bar is open, inside, until 10ish. The restaurant, Leddy’s Porch seems to be a locals favorite spot for Sunday Brunch. The food was great AND you can get unlimited mimosas (or Bloody Mary’s I think) for $15. The fried green tomato BLT with homemade ranch was so yummy. My husband got an omelet with sausage and the sausage was phenomenal! Homemade and so tasty! There’s also indoor and outdoor seating. That was nice. Especially with the change of seasons coming, it would make for a beautiful Sunday out. We had a small issue with linens when we got there but the staff was very accommodating and courteous. We will definitely be back to visit.
