The house and property were very welcoming! Everything was clean and pristine. The PitBoss grill was excellent along with the pool table and other amenities. This was our 2nd stay and will definitely book again next year.

We have stayed at this property in previous years and family members always say to try and book again for our next vacation. Plenty of room for entire family of 12. Property was very clean and had all the items needed in the kitchen. Fishing was fantastic so grandchildren were kept busy catching walleye and big sunnies. The boatlift is a plus. Will try and book again for next summer.

Perfect family getaway!

We took a family vacation with my kids and their families. We had 7 adults, a 6 year old, 3 year and 1 year old. This place was perfect! Very spacious home and the backyard was wonderful for the kids. The sand area are was perfect and they had so many things we could use from sand toys to high chairs, pellet grill, two big refrigerators, two kitchens, floaters, beach towels. So much more than we expected. The lake was nice and shallow which was also great with the kids. There were some weeds but we could get rid of them so they weren’t much of a hassle. Nice fire pit in the back too. We had a storm nearby with some crazy clouds. The hosts were wonderful too! We highly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!

This house was great to stay in. Plenty of room for the family and the toys were great to keep the kids entertained on a rainy day. Sand area was nice to play in and the dock and boat lift were very handy for our boat.

Family Vacay

Excellent! Great communication, owner sent message prior to stay, contacted us at check in to make sure we got it and stopped by for a visit! Every year my parents, siblings and all our kids vacation at a lake house. We love Big Stone lake and the community. The house provided more than plenty space for us all! The kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and the “sand box” area with provided toys was a huge hit. We defiantly recommend this stay!

Big time memories made at Big Stone Lake!

Our extended family group of 6 adults & 4 teens had a wonderful 4 day late June vacay at Gary&Mary’s vacation home at Big Stone Lake. We brought our boat and left it on the lift except for one night when a storm was coming. The dads & kids had a blast boating, tubing, and fishing. They decided to catch and release so they didn’t use the downstairs kitchen which was well set up for cleaning fish. The loft area and porch and great decks were a real bonus, providing us with great places to view the lake and the scenery. The kids loved having a pool table in the basement. The weather was great, so we didn’t need to spend a lot of time inside, but had it been a rainy weekend, there were plenty of games, DVDs, and lots of toys for young kids to keep everyone busy. Being so close to Ortonville, it was easy to run in and get groceries etc. Gary was very attentive, answered our questions, and made our stay very enjoyable. This vacation rental is a real gem.

We couldn't be more pleased with our choice. Despite rain on and off for the 4 days we were there the home was spacious enough for our family (ranging from age 1 to 61) to spread out. Lots of room for the kids to play, adults to play cards and games and even space in the 3 season room to play guitar while gazing over the beautiful lake that was rapidly rising. Gary, our host, is an incredibly pleasant gentleman who made sure we were comfortable and kept us informed on what to expect as the lake rose due to extremely heavy rains. We still found plenty of time to enjoy time in the yard and a have a fire for s'mores. Our family recommends this property and its kind host without reservation. Thank you for sharing your family's beautiful home so we could make beautiful family memories.

Great House

Wonderful property with a great location. It was cold and rainy, so we didn't spend any time outside but the warm and dry views of the lake from the floor-to-to-ceiling windows in the living room and sunroom were fantastic. Great sleeping arrangements for 8 individual adults. Kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need. The whole house was clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive to pre-stay questions, and we had no issues during the stay. We are already looking to book for next year!

Excellent location

Had a great time. The winds kept us off the lake for most of the day but the accommodations were great. Lots of room for 8 people. Two kitchens were awesome to have for cooking fish. Beautiful location and great decks for viewing the lake. Look forward to another visit.

The Best

In 2 days we caught over 90 fish. Had a problem with deep fryer called Gary and he was there in 5 min. We will be back for sure. Exelant time.

Thanksgiving Holiday

We stayed during cold weather so I can’t review the beach toys or fishing, but the view of the frozen lake from the house was beautiful. The owners had set up a Christmas tree for us to enjoy near the gas fireplace. Plenty of room for all 8 of us including our winter luggage of coats and boots, etc. The house stayed a comfortable temperature. There were also lots of blankets available to snuggle up in front of the football on one of the big TVs. Quiet neighborhood and attentive host. Definitely recommend.
