An unique western style in the onsen town. Friendly staff. Minimized style. If you ask the hotel to help book a restaurant prior to arrival, they ask for a proxy fee (which seems to be a bit unreasonable given its high room rate).

We arrived later in the day, initially my partner and I were taken aback by how beautiful the hotel was being lit up and its architectural structure. Aside from the smell due to the sulfur of the onsens everywhere it’s a wonderful hotel, location, and staff. Highly recommend for a night or two to unwind.

Property was a bit difficult to get to and in a location not near other attractions (except for the beppu ropeway area). The hotel itself was excellent. The concept was unique and the rooms were great. It was fun discovering and enjoying all the artwork hidden throughout the hotel grounds. Breakfast and dinner options were both diverse and delicious. High quality and great service.

Tasteful hotel with great hot springs amenities

Enjoyed a relaxing stay and made the most of the personal onsen (hot springs tub) attached to our room. The room was spacious with a great view and comfortable bed and pillows. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. I recommend getting the “half board” meal plan so you can enjoy breakfast and dinner at hotel, especially as it’s far from town and the food is quite good. Highly recommend!

The cleanliness can be better. The toilet is very dusty ( you can see the thick dust on the door latch) as well as the aircon. Overall experience was okay except for the cleanliness.

Very outstanding architectural design hotel. It stands on a hill but a bit far from the public transportation. Thanks to the offering of shuttle services to and fro the jr station. However it's only limited to a few seats and a few times a day and also need advance booking. This is the only drawback. Because of the difficulty of transportation, we are also restricted to dine in the hotel restaurant. Other than that we love the atmosphere of the hotel and the private in room onsen bath. Very nice experience.

徒歩圏内にお店はありませんが山のほうにあるだけあって景色がよく、ホテル内の美術品も楽しめました。 湯の花が浮いている温泉が初めてだったのでそれもよい体験でしたし気持ちが良かったです。 朝食も美味しかったです。 ホテルの方の対応も丁寧でした。ありがとうございました🙇‍♀️
