Historic hotel with cozy rooms at a great location

Great hotel for visiting the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, and heading across the border to the Alsase region in France. We enjoyed the included breakfast to start off our day and had a nice dinner at the restaurant one evening. The staff was very friendly and multilingual and helped us with our limited Deutsch. The room was comfortable and thankfully well heated. Thanks to the management and staff for maintaining an historic hotel from the 1600s and keeping up with 21st century amenities. We look forward to a future stay!

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and made all effort to make me feel at home: I was traveling with my dog and they allowed him into the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was excellent. The town of Overkirch is quite delightful - good place to wander around and the Obere Linde a very comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Charming hotel with friendly staff

Hotel was quite charming and rustic- just what I want in a local hotel. The staff were all fantastic and friendly. Our waitress was adorable and so nice. Checkin and checkout was fast and the young lady was very sweet.

Great location and super clean room

Location excellent and room was very clean and large. The bathroom was very pretty and large as well. It was easy to walk to the town center, good shopping and restaurants nearby. Tasty breakfast as well, included in price.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful area

This pretty hotel is in traditional German style - the room we stayed in was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast served on the terrace was very good. The local area is beautiful. I would very happily re-visit this hotel.

ok older hotel; let's call it charming

it's an older hotel, so there is some charm there. it's got radiant heaters not forced air flow so the room temp can be finicky. it was dark in the rooms, poor lighting and a small window. again, it's an older hotel. it's very quiet which is nice. the wifi was ok, not terrible not great. the best thing going was the proximity to the castle ruins (ruins du Schauenburg) nearby. it was just right up the side street for the hotel. free parking was a nice benefit. breakfast was good. lots of choices of typical european breakfast with breads fruits, grains, cereals, eggs, meats etc.

Nice hotel in the Black Forest area

This was a nice hotel located in the middle of a cute town in the Black Forest area. The room was large and the hotel staff were very friendly. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff even made us bacon and eggs on the spot! My only complaint is that the beds/pillows were not very comfortable. Other than that it was a great stay!

Sumptuous buffet breakfast

Hotel Obere Linde is close to perfect. My room was very large, with a comfortable sitting area as well as twin beds, and a lovely view onto the garden at the back of the hotel. Free wifi was provided. A Guest card provided free local transport, and various other discounts were available. I enjoyed dinner on three nights, with an appetising range of dishes to choose from, at reasonable prices. There are good wines available by the glass. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I have had, with many choices of juice, yoghurt, cereals, fruits, breads, cold meats, cheeses, eggs and excellent coffee. The staff are attentive and friendly. Oberkirch is a lovely town, well situated for day trips in the Black Forest. My only quibble: the shower is over the bathtub, so people with reduced mobility may find this difficult.

Room was very nice but no air conditioning

The room was very nice and spacious. The bathroom had blue and white plaid tile that made it very charming. The hotel itself was well kept up. The food was excellent....and breakfast was great. Internet was easy to connect to. Only drawback was no air conditioning. The weather was unusually hot and humid for the beginning of June and there was no breeze till 5 in the morning. The windows did open up very wide so when the air moved you could feel it. Some rooms have a balcony. Lovely roses and window boxes everywhere. A lovely garden with outdoor dining. Wish I could have stayed longer at a cooler time of the year.

First Night in Germany - Wonderful

Our first night in Germany was at this very lovely hotel in Oberkirch. Obere Linde is beyond beautiful inside and out. Very traditional German architecture, gorgeous woodwork and decor, very German cleanliness abounds, great attention to detail. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room (and bathroom) on the second floor was large and bright with lots of windows with a walk out to the balcony with a view of the garden and the vineyards. The bed was a beautiful, large, comfortable, 4 poster bed with premium bedding and cozy duvets. The only noise we heard was the welcome sound of church bells in the morning. Some of the amenities we appreciated were: free/safe parking, free WIFI, in room safe, mini bar which featured local wines. The hotel restaurant is first class. (We had dinner and breakfast.) The food is wonderful and beautifully presented, complimented by the great service and the view. The breakfast was excellent from the breads to the meats and the cheeses and the fruit and the eggs, to the juices and champagne. The village is charming and in a most beautiful area surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Obere Linde is well situated for strolling through town or walking to the castle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
