Wonderfully located. Beautifully decorated and gracious host/owner. Wonderful to have secure parking even for a €€ rate. Request a lower floor if you have any concerns about stairs without railings. All rooms are lovely and the common areas are in the floor above the garage/ street level. The breakfast is very good -no eggs, but fine cheese, breads, yoghurt, fruit. Also be aware that there is a cat in the house if you have allergies. S/he doesn’t go into the bedrooms but does live in the common areas. Air conditioning in all rooms. Would stay there again when in Nimes.
This is a renovated old building with eclectic decorations. The hotel was updated, but it almost felt like a 19th century guest house. The breakfast was delicious, and the courtyard where it was offered was wonderful. You can use it at other times to sit in the open air if you choose. There is a bus stop less than 5 minutes away, making it very easy to maneuver with public transportation. The garage, which we very much appreciated, was a bit of a maneuvering challenge for a medium sized car but we managed.
Loved Mathew. It is a great comfy place with loads of interesting decor to look at. Great breakfast and patio dining. The rooms were greatly appointment. Excellent central location to see all major sites shopping and restaurants. We would definitely stay again.
Incredible property. Elegant and eclectic decor. Absolutely gorgeous. The hospitality shown by the host was perfect. I hope we are able to return someday.
Staying at La Maison Rousseau was a wonderful experience. They have created a beautiful home with antique decoration. I enjoyed listening to the classical music while having breakfast. There is much to look at but it is also a calm atmosphere with the greenery of the garden. Check-in and Check-out was easy, and the location was good. The wifi worked well and the hot water in the shower too. If ever in Nîmes again this is where we will stay.
Cat and dog are cool, garden for breakfast " AC at night in our room was making a Very loud noise each 10 minutes and like someone wrote : impossible to take a shower in the bathroom the shower head is too short so you have to take a bath ..Now the worse: we sat for breakfast me and my wife in the little cute garden;a very happy american couple was next to us ; one the two owner came and ask us if we wanted coffee and we told me yes ..10-15 minutes later a young Italian couple sat next to us ( at that point we are only 4 people now in the garden for breakfast) the owner is coming back with our coffee and give it to the Italian couple who just arrived lol! im thinking they are may be in hurry to leave Nimes not a big deal ..Breakfast is served ( defrosted croissant and kind of hard bread ..We are in France lol
but it is ok..After another 10 minutes I asked for our coffee to the second very cool owner and he apologies for the delay Not a big deal..Coffee arrived at our table but as the same time the Italians couple ask for more coffee..Then something I have NEVER seen happened: the first owner ( small size guy) grab the same coffee pot he just brough us and give it to the Italian couple next to us !! I told him but it is our coffee?! He look at me and reply in french : " your coffee ,your coffee " meaning it is not our coffee but his coffee as the owner of the house ..WOW! Crazy no?! We are paying for that so the next day we declined having breakfast he got it Not cool at

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Rooms smelled musty. The owner's cat had free range of the food serving and preparation areas, including counter tops.
Absolutely wonderful stay at La Maison Rousseau! Matthieu was such a welcoming host and went out of his way to make our stay memorable. He prepared breakfast early on two mornings before we left for day trips. The breakfast was a lovely presentation and delicious. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. Matthieu gave us suggestions for restaurants and provided very clear directions for important sites to see. The location is convenient to all sites and very safe and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope we can make a return visit. We were so glad we stayed in such a unique bed and breakfast and would definitely rate our stay “5 Star Accommodations”!
Like staying with your very rich grandmother - elaborately embroidered bed linens, fine china, etc. Just a couple of rooms here with a splendid garden - plants and birds - lovely spot for a good breakfast. The antiques were outstanding.
Wonderfully quirky house with amazing decorations. Despite its central location it has a very quiet location in a side street and it’s own private parking.
We were made to feel at home and the breakfasts were excellent.
Would very much recommend to anyone looking for a wonderfully original experience.
A unique experience. Never experienced anything like it before. The house and breakfast was amazing and the host Mathieu charming

Liked: Staff & service
Sehr freundlicher Empfang.
Sehr günstig im Stadtzentrum gelegen, um die wunderbare Stadt Nîmes zu besichtigen.
Das Zimmer war unserer Meinung nach überladen, wirkte wie ein Brocante-Laden.

Beautiful place but service in the morning 👎
Fantastic decoration and design . A unic place in terms of that . Breakfast good . One of the male owners very polite and serviceminded. But … we asked if we could have our breakfast at 8 instead of 9 wich was the ordinary hour. They Said yes but didnt tell us that the Madame who was making the breakfast would then be very grumpy about that and Said normally the breakfast is at 9 , about 3 times. And that she had to leave the hotel at 10 so we had to check out one hour earlier than we where told. We did not experience a good atmosfair from her and she in addition to that reacted very awkward when we leftour table after 35 minutes. And Said leaving already ? In a tone that was not friendly. And she Said like; why have breakfast so early when everything is closed on mondays?.. witch it turnéd out not to be. Very typical french not service minded person though we who lives in France a big time of the year experience a Change in that and that is great.
Contrairement à la page du site, le parking n'est pas compris (12€ la nuit).
Parfum d'ambiance à l'odeur très insistante dans la chambre.
Jolie décoration, et bon petit déjeuner.
