The room that we booked was not as advertised on the website, we chose a superior double as not too many stairs but the room we were given was another flight of stairs up. Had to phone the hotel number as no one available to talk to in person but in saying that was quickly resolved and a ground floor room was thankfully available. I mentioned website as also advertised a lounge/bar for guests but this apparently had not been open since Covid! Suggested website requires updating. Breakfast included was a continental only unless upgraded for Ā£15pp for hot food. Continental was sufficient.

Scott & Liz are fantastic hosts, going above and beyond for their guests. The hotel is conveniently located for all amenities. Itā€™s beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was awesome.

Nettes kleines Hotel in praktischer Lage.

Sauberes Hotel direkt in der Innenstadt. Der Strand ist zu FuƟ nur ein paar Minuten entfernt. Check-In unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Wir hatten 2 Zimmer in der obersten Etage. Dort war es leider schon recht war. Es war keine Klimaanlage vorhanden, jedoch ein Ventilator, der etwas Milderung verschaffte. Die Zimmer waren sehr ordentlich und zweckmƤƟig eingerichtet. Die Badezimmer waren nicht groƟ aber sauber und ebenfalls ordentlich. Ein Zimmer lag zur Vorderseite. An dieser Strasse befinden sich so zielmlich alle Restaurants des Ortes. Dort war es bis in die Nacht recht laut. Jedoch war es dadurch nur ein kurzer Weg von Dinner zurĆ¼ck ins Hotel. Alle Mitarbeiter im Service waren ebenfalls sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es gibt verschiedene FrĆ¼hstĆ¼cksobtionen zur Auswahl (nicht nur "klassisch englisch" ). Parken war in den Seitenstrasse kostenlos mƶglich.

Room was tidy, but hot. Noise from the main road and guests conversation clearly could be heard from next rooms specially after midnight. The worst part, no toiletries supplied. Therefore could not take showers for a couple of days. Even hand soap not supplied.

Gem of a place to stay

Another lovely stay. Welcoming staff who explain everything and show you to your room. Room clean and modern, albeit a little small. Everything you need. Parking is great in a quiet area. Breakfast superb

Excellent service & staff. All staff found to be very friendly. Breakfast menu good. Property about half a mile from centre of south shields with metro & bus stations. Pleasant walks through local parks & along coast nearby. Parking - widely available as free spaces outside along whole length of road & nearby side roads. Our car left entire duration of our stay as we made use of very good public transport. Excellent base for staying near Newcastle or travelling nearby. Would definitely recommend as a suitable destination.

It is obvious that this family has had 5-star hotel experience. The room was beautiful, clean, and well-appointed. The food choices were myriad for breakfast, and I could see why the people of the city go there for breakfast, brunch, coffee, and lunch. The staff were friendly, and expeditious.

Amazing

Probably the best hotel in the area. Wonderful staff. Prepared a vegan breakfast for us. Rooms a little noisy but normal for most hotels and Iā€™m a light sleeper. Would definitely stay again if return to the area
