I had been traveling since early morning, when I arrived at the Paramount Hotel just before midnight. I booked and paid for a 2 night stay over a month prior, through Orbitz. (Another zero star, terrible experience.) There was no room for me. I had to scramble to find another hotel-it’s after midnight now-after being directed by the front desk to contact Orbitz. I had to chase a refund, after booking (and paying more for a lesser hotel in the same area.
I’ve stayed at this hotel before. It’s decent. My recent experience there was hell. I learned two things; 1) Don’t use Orbitz (or any third party) to book a hotel. (Orbitz took zero accountability and even less help than zero when I needed them. Book directly with a hotel. You’ll likely pay the same and (2) if you have paid for the room and you’ll be arriving late due to travel delays, call and confirm, with this property . At minimum, it will more likely prevent your room being given away (no refund, before a zillion phone calls and a fight.) and you won’t have Paramount Hotel telling you: there’s nothing we can do. Maybe then they won’t resell your room, and leave you nowhere: . Do better, Paramount Hotel.
