About this property
Walking distance to French Quarter and Frenchmen Street with Pool!
Come and stay in this beautifully restored Creole Cottage filled with old world charm and modern amenities. The Cottage is a Registered Historical Landmark with the National Park Services and the State of Louisiana.
In the early 1800s, Nicholas and Marianne Mandry and their three children Cecile, Auguste and Constant would step off of a boat from France on Christmas day in the port of New Orleans. Nicholas, a tailor, and his wife Marianne, a seamstress, would raise their children in the house. Their children would grow, marry and have children of their own, all of whom would call this house "Home". The Mandry family would inhabit this house until the 1920s.
Three paranormal investigation teams have walked through the house and suggest that the Mandry family is still inhabiting the house.
The property features a shared backyard seating area with a fountain and a pool. The owner lives on the other side of the house with his dog Cookie and will gladly help you during your stay.
Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a kitchenette, a washing machine, and 2 bathrooms.

NFL/Friends trip!
We came to New Orleans for the NFL game with some friends. We had an amazing time! The house had a beautiful yard. The backyard was a mini oasis and we enjoyed the pool after walking around all day! Thomas was beyond helpful and answered any questions we had. Cookie, his dog, is super adorable too and was an added bonus! The house was clean and quaint. We loved the antique furniture! The house was not far from the French quarter (20 min walk). We had the opportunity to talk to some neighbors and everyone in the area was very friendly! We would consider renting this house again when we come back to the area!

Good Historical Spot
Overall I would rate this property a 3.5 on a scale of five. I believe the property owner has done a good job restoring. Tons of beautiful antiques and touches throughout and the inside was clean. I think the courtyard could use a little TLC but it was nice and relaxing. We did have some issues during our stay. The lowest the AC is allowed to be set is 70 degrees. In hot, humid weather it was difficult for the AC to keep the home at a consistently comfortable, cool temperature even though we kept the curtains shut as suggested. The upstairs master bedroom had a unit that made the room cooler but I had to reattach it to the window when we arrived and the maint. person had to come fix it on the second day. There is only one queen bed and that is in the downstairs far bedroom not the master upstairs. The other beds are full size. The pool was not usable as one reviewer stated. The owner stated he called the pool guy, but he never showed and I wasn’t about to clean the pool on my vacation. The washing machine was rusty so I didn’t want to wash our clothes. I did wash a load of towels, but the dryer did not work. The owner did offer to credit me if I decided to use the laundromat down the street but I didn’t want to spend vacation time at a laundromat when a washer and dryer were supposed to be available. Neighborhood was typical for the 7th ward - a bit rough. Not close walking distance to the Quarter if that’s your goal. I don’t think I would stay here again.

Beautiful historic property
Very cool, well appointed property in a great location. We loved the music coming out of the old timey radio upon check in and the other vintage elements. The laminated binder provided suggestions for walkable restaurants (among other things!) which was a big help for the meals we didn't have planned. Our host checked in with us mid-trip and although we didn't need anything, it was comforting to know he and the property manager were available. Perfect place for us 3 women to each have our own private space with a common area to unwind after fun days out. Thank you for a fabulous first trip to NOLA!

Great spot
Our first impression was great. The owner received notice that there was road work the day we came in and met us a block down the street to take us to our place. (Our flight was an hour delayed as well and they had no idea!) As we were waking he gave us all these places to go as well as how to get to the quarter. All within walking distance. Then we got into our rental it was so period oriented with all the 21 century luxuries. There was New Orleans jazz music playing. House was so comfortable and cozy! It was too cold to get into the pool. But next time!

Cozy, Charming, and Walkable!
Hi! My husband and I, along with two other couples, rented Tom's place for our Mardi Gras stay. The house was not only well-stocked with all the essentials, but also with unique vintage and antique furnishings. We loved the original architecture and the layout. Upstairs had one bedroom and full bath. Down the back hallway were the other two bedrooms and a full bath off the kitchen. It was quiet and private with all the shared space at the front of the house. The backyard garden had comfy furniture and tons of plants. It was totally peaceful. Best of all was our host, Tom, and his sweet dog, Cookie. They greeted us on arrival and showed us around the neighborhood. Like any New Orleans neighborhood, it had a few abandoned homes, but overall it felt like a safe, family-friendly place. People were nice to us everywhere we went. It's just a few blocks walk to Marigny and the Quarter. Tom's food and bar recommendations were spot on, and he was great company. We will be back as soon as we can!

aged house
the house was aged which located at a not so premium area, the street that the house located in was under construction, it was hard to be access. We have to struggle a little with the front door lock to open the front door. The house was not within walking distance to French Quarter. If you decide to walk, it may take at less 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. The house was clean and decent inside. maybe it is the winter time, the swimming pool was unusable, otherwise the back yard is beautiful. The house owner is very responsible to all questions.

Absolutely Charming
We enjoyed our stay! The place is full of beautiful antique furniture and felt like stepping back in time. The beds were comfortable; we would definitely choose this location again.
