In the small village of Ostbense, right on the North Sea—with the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel to the west and the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel to the east—directly behind the dike and thus right next to the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” you, our dear guests, will find our “Haus am Watt” with two vacation apartments. Ostbense is a district of Neuharlingersiel.
Just a few meters away lies the North Sea—sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent, but always fascinating: This is where the unique natural spectacle of the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park” begins, designated a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009.



At the “Haus am Watt” in Ostbense, near the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel, we offer you, our dear guests, two vacation apartments—“Verklicker” and “Palstek”—in secluded tranquility with no immediate neighbors.
The vacation apartments measure approximately 40 and 50 square meters and are each perfectly suited for two guests—or, of course, for a single person—to enjoy a wonderful and very peaceful North Sea vacation. The vacation apartments feature a rustic East Frisian style, with a friendly and cozy design and furnishings, and are very well equipped with everything you’ll need on vacation.



You’ll be staying right on the dike, so you’ll never be too late to enjoy the consistently spectacular sunsets over the North Sea!
On the dike, you’ll experience the ebb and flow of the tides at their most beautiful, and you’ll bask in the sun and sea alongside just a few other locals.
Right on the dike, you can also wade or swim in the North Sea. Depending on the water level, the water at the dike is up to about 1.30 deep, and the farther you move away from the dike, the deeper it gets. The Wadden Sea doesn’t drop off suddenly; instead, the depth, for example, ranges from about 200 meters from the dike to 1.80 meters, and even further out, eventually even the tallest person can no longer stand.
Or you can lie back in the sun and breathe in the salty air—it’s simply wonderful; you’ll see! Your “Haus am Watt,” located in the Ostbense district of the fishing village and North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel, is also an ideal starting point for a wonderful bike ride along the outer side of the dike.
Here with us, you’ll find the well-deserved peace and quiet you’ve been looking for. It’s about a 5-minute drive to the beach and all the spa facilities in the North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel; the drive to the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel or to the over 475-year-old knight’s town of Esens is just as short.
A vacation in Ostbense near Neuharlingersiel means “the North Sea without the tourist crowds,” with wonderful walks along the dike. At the same time, the tourist centers, beaches, and swimming pools are within easy reach. Once again, your bicycle is the ideal way to get around, allowing you to ride outside the dike directly along the North Sea.
The North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel is a 300-year-old fishing village with an active fleet of shrimp boats. In the beautiful historic harbor, East Frisian fishing is still actively practiced today by many crab boats.
