Short but fantastic stay

Best hotel in Myanmar

The best night sleep in Myanmar. And the best breakfast buffet. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The pool was a nice treat to escape the blistering heat. Also the no charge mini bar was a nice surprise. Thanks Kenpinski!

Comfortable and relaxing hotel

While there is nothing much to do in Naypyidaw, if you find yourself there and need a hotel, the Kempinski is an excellent choice - the staff are friendly and efficient, the beds are super comfortable, the food is great, and spending the day drinking cocktails by the pool is a good use of time. However, I'd steer clear of the spa services - it seems to be a fairly new set up, and both myself and my friend agree that we had one of the worst massages of our lives there, and we've both lived in Asia for some time. It may just be some teething problems, but I was glad that I could only get an hour booking instead of the two hours that I had tried to get. There were also some minor maintenance issues while we were there - whenever it rained, it seemed the roof in the main corridor would flood. But overall it was an extremely enjoyable stay, and if I found myself back in town, I would definitely stay there again.

Haven in Orwell-land

Naypyidaw is a strange place but this hotel is very nice. Big, spotlessly clean, with really nice rooms and lovely beds. The air conditioning was powerful but quiet, and the showers were excellent. Fast wi-fi. Room service food was good too. Perhaps the breakfast wasn't all that great from the point of view of an unadventurous Westerner. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Best Hotel I've ever stayed in

Hotel exceeded expectation. Room - immaculate, comfy bed, rainfall shower, WIFI always reliable, black out curtains Breakfast buffet - well catered, heaps of choices, Staff - sensational. The friendliest hotel employees I have ever met. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Special mention to the Guest Services Manager (Lady in Red) Phyo who was so helpful and friendly and a beacon of positive energy. She helped me book a driver and had awesome recommendations for sightseeing. Overall this hotel was brilliant and provided the refresher I needed while traveling Sth East Asia. Naypidaw is a fascinating place and most of the time I felt like I was the only tourist in the city which is a rare and unique experience in itself. By way of attractions I recommend the central Pagoda, water fountain park (at night), national landmark amusement park, Safari park, night market, and checking out the majestic government buildings. FYI, the city is hugely spread out, it's not exactly a by-foot-friendly place so a taxi/driver is essential. I booked one for about $50 USD for the whole day; which was ideal because you can stop at any time for photo ops...
