8/10 Good

While there were a number of positives, we’ll probably stay elsewhere for our next Mountain View trip. On the plus side, it was a 10 min or less walk to CalTrain and downtown Mountain View (Castro St). The house was pretty spacious with the front sitting room having a pullout sofa. The kitchen was well stocked for meal preparation, etc, with a nice toaster, microwave, kuerig coffee machine and water kettle. Lots of bath towels and extra blankets too. The one car garage was also nice, although pretty cluttered, so we had to collapse empty boxes and generally tidy up before we could move our car into it. Also a garage door opener was not supplied, so you had to enter via the front door and then into the garage to open the overhead door. The biggest downside were the small ants, which were all over the kitchen and the rest of the house, even though all our food was sealed or in the cupboards or refrigerators. If you washed dishes by hand and left them on the dryer rack you’d see ants on them soon after. The furnishings were fine but nothing to write home about… slightly less than IKEA quality. The master bed mattress was very firm, which can be a plus depending what you prefer. There are just a couple paintings on the walls, but mostly bare walls throughout the house. Some of the doors were very sticky, as if the house has settled a bit. The second room door has. 1” gap on the bottom, which was filled with a rubber flap — which made a loud squeaking sound when opened.
