If you’re looking for pure relaxation, this is the perfect place. Right on the beach and nestled in a lush garden, it’s a haven of peace and tranquility. Each morning, watching the sunrise while listening to the crashing waves felt incredibly therapeutic.The bungalow was well equipped with everything we needed, including a large shower and a stove for preparing meals, details we truly appreciated. Toshimi and her family were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with great recommendations. We would gladly return anytime.

What an amazing stay with the best hosts!! Thank you Elizabeth and Mikel. What a lovely welcoming to a cozy place right on the beach. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely return. They provided us with welcome beverages and then some homemade yummy breads. Gave us some helpful info on things to do around the island and their two dogs were the sweetest, Mingee and Joy. They came along our strolls on the beach and made us feel at home. Everything was perfect and made our first experience on Moorea one to remember. We had an absolutely wonderful stay in Moorea. The accommodations were spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. The garden and beachfront setting are truly magical. Waking up to that view each day felt like something out of a postcard.The location is excellent and very convenient to the ferry, which made arriving and departing easy. It is also next to the golf course and small airstrip. We were a bit surprised the first time a plane landed, but it quickly became part of the charm of the area and never disturbed our sleep.I would recommend having a car so you can easily explore the island, and there is space to park a small car at the property.Michele and Elisabeth were incredibly kind and welcoming hosts. Their hospitality made our stay even more special. We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Moorea.

This is a very nice, rustic place to relax and unwind. Very quiet neighborhood with a beautiful yard and beach. The beach is on the windward side so it was a little too rough to swim in. We had our coffee as the sun rose in the morning and quiet drink as it set in the evening. The dogs are great. The host was very nice. And we saw whales

Michel and Elisabeth were awesome hosts. My wife was ill upon arrival and they went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable. When she was well enough to get out and about, Michel kept in touch with me via WhatsApp to check on her!I picked up a small blender locally and Michel provided me with various fruits for some great smoothies.The bungalow was cozy and what I expected for the price paid. As another guest noted, internet is spotty but we have an international plan with Verizon, so I was able to hotspot without any issue since cell coverage was great. Beach access is literally just out of the back yard. I spent many hours chilling there! All in all, if someone is into resorts, this is NOT your place. But if you're looking for privacy, awesome hosts and simple accommodations, Michel and Elisabeth's place is great. Oh, and Mindji the dog and her 2 buddies are great dogs for company when chilling on the beach!

Arriving at Michel and Elisabeth's bungalow for our honeymoon was the absolute perfect way to truly unwind and start relaxing. They greeted us so warmly with refreshing drinks and had already thought of everything we could possibly need (hot shower, air conditioning, coffee maker, etc.)The bungalow was our own private slice of heaven. Waking up to the beautiful garden and having direct access to the private beach was a dream. It was the most serene and romantic setting imaginable. Michel and Elisabeth are truly wonderful hosts, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to continue our honeymoon. We will cherish the memories forever.

This has been such a wonderful place to stay. The host goes out of his way to make sure you feel at home! The private beach access is such an amazing experience local restaurant nearby along with another local beach. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The proprietor was very kind. The accommodation was very comfortable for my niece and I. One review said the water is not drinkable, but the faucet in the bathroom, which is tall enough for a water bottle, is filtered. The refrigerator is in the lodging. A bigger sink to wash dishes is in a separate part of the building by the laundry. This is not a problem, at all. We saved money by cooking at home on the hotplate. The a/c works very well. I walked across the back yard each morning and sat in the chairs to watch the dawn over the ocean. It was lovely, very peaceful. I snorkeled well down the beach to the left. It is quite shallow and no fins necessary. I also snorkeled at Te'Mae. It was very easy, like a bathtub, at low tide. The current was much stronger at high tide and the reef is quite a ways out. Fins required. Bring your own gear. Motu Grill has the best fish at the cheapest price in the area. I am not a dog person, but the dogs here were great, no problems. I would stay here again if i get to come back to Moorea. If you arent a fancy resort type person, i highly recommend it.

Beach accommodation

The property is quant and has most of what you need. It is located pretty far from everything so transport is a must. The beach was a great little spot to sit and have you morning coffee or evening glass of wine.It has a good little snorkeling spot out the back gate and a 500m walk to the left down the beach.The Wi-fi is terrible to mostly non existent, so we recommend buying a prepaid sim card when you are in Papeete . Overall we enjoyed our 5 night stay there very much.

Our stay in the bungalow was really nice. Pros: The bungalow was roomy, and the owners live in the home next to the bungalow. They have chairs right at the ocean for you to enjoy. Their dog, along with the neighborhood dogs, will accompany you in their garden and along the beach. They are all docile. The fridge and AC worked great, which allowed us to eat food in the bungalow. Temae beach snorkel area is just around the corner down the dirt road, and it offers some of the best snorkeling and clarity we could find. There is a small current though so you will need to just let the ocean take you along while you snorkel, and then walk up the beach. Cons: This is a true “bungalow” so unless you keep it closed up, there will be an occasional mosquito inside. We also had ants that decided to help themselves to some of our packaged food, so look for the bug spray to stop them as soon as you see them (there's a bottle in the kitchen and in the washroom that's just outside the bungalow). There's also a mosquito coil to burn if you need it. It is near an airport, so when a plane takes off it can be noisy. It can be hard to find, especially at night. You will be on a dirt road and then turn onto a one lane road. To find the road you will need to make a hairpin turn as soon as you arrive at the Motu grill. The owners will provide instructions to identify which home is theirs once you are ready to check in. All in all, it was a great stay.

Lovely Bungalow

This was a fabulous little bungalow slightly off the beaten path. It has a lovely outdoor area where you can sit and watch the sunset. Small, quaint and everything you need. Internet was a little sketchy at times. Would stay there again

Lost in the Dark on Team

I don't recommend arriving after dark to this accommodation haha as the Accoms has 'no name' and therefore no name on the Gate - even after the very clear instructions (2nd gate way after Green Lodge) - we still managed to go to wrong property - actually I think it was the Book-a-bach site location map did not show THIS property CLEARLY ENOUGH on the map provided - so that would help Book-a-Bach - please Name THIS property on your site map "Bungalow in a Garden" it will help travellers ..... c'est la vie. A/c was fantastic and appreciated! Internet was a bit hit and miss when we stayed. We would have appreciated having push bikes close by to get to shops or beach or just enjoy walking lots or paying for taxi's. Motu Grill Restaurant is just at end of the driveway - lifesaver. Own access to beach with possibility of seeing whales sail by is Superb also - no whales til whale season Aug - Oct??. Appreciated Elisabeth comms via WhatsApp quickly - would be great to have Local Host to respond same day, we felt a bit 'left' as we were not familiar with a lot of amenities/local but we know now and would definitely be back to see our friend Minghee the dog. Great Stay on Moorea!

Had a great stay here while in Moorea. Great location and had everything we needed during our stay. Mingee the dog was also a great host while we were there she was always eager to walk with us down to the beach.

Annabelle treated us like family. Air France lost our luggage in LAX. Anabelle fixed us up with a pair of Michel's shorts and other amenities, and stayed waiting for our luggage while we continued our honeymoon touring Moorea. Minjee was our friendly dog for 3 days in and out of the bungalow and when we walked through the garden to our own beach. Rustic glamping with all the necessities, that we loved. No exact address, but Michel is right there is only one place two driveways after Green Lodge (note Green Lodge has two driveways).

Temae bungalow

The building is in the back corner of the property right behind the house. Nice to have full size fridge but unfortunately at the far end of building in separate room. We were disappointed to find the BBQ rusted out and beyond use. We spent a lot of time in the chairs w/ table by the beach but reef too close for swimming. Listing says hot tub but we never saw that, not that we'd have used it.... Water is not potable but there is a public source not far away. We stayed in numerous places on our month long trip to Moorea and Tahiti, although we made the best of it and it was by no means bad, it just didn't live up to other places we stayed. As another reviewer mentioned it could be considered glamping and we loved having the A/C!! Not dissatisfied! Thanks Michel!

Wonderful, relaxing bungalow!

This bungalow was exactly as described on the website. Excellent communication with Michael and checkin was easy! The bungalow was immaculate and had a very large bathroom/shower! Kitchen was nice. Just down the road is a family owned restaurant, Motu Grill which was opened for lunch and dinner. Prices were good and the grilled chicken was delicious. Also about 1/2 mile from the bungalow was a public beach. Easy to walk or drive. We didn't rent a car so walked or had taxi meet us right infront of the Motu Grill sign. Spent my early mornings watching the sunrise over the sea. What a breathtaking sight that was every morning. Manjee(owner's friendly dog) joined me as we sat and enjoyed it. We strolled along the beach in the early evening and saw whales going by. What a sight to see! If your looking for a place on the beach to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of the busy world. This is your place! It was one of the most relaxing vacations I have had in a long while! I would absolutely stay here again and will definitely tell my friends about it.

Our stay was beyond what we hoped for. Michel is a wonderful host. He helped us with advice and booking a beautiful sailing tour. And he let me practice my French. Our only challenge was finding the property when we first arrived.

The perfect beach escape

Our time at Michel's was simply magical! A simple, clean little cottage with very comfortable beds adjacent to a gorgeous beach makes this a perfect stay for us. Michel was a gracious host. He was very helpful in getting us oriented when we arrived and always checked in in case we needed anything. An added bonus was our host dog, Minjee! The only thing better than wandering on a gorgeous beach collecting shells and swimming, is having a happy dog along to play with! We were sad to leave and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else should we be lucky enough to return. Merci, Michel!
