We stayed at the hotel for three days and had a room on the second floor of the house. The room was bright, private, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful and always available to assist with anything we needed. Waking up to a lovely breakfast each morning was a delightful bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its facilities, especially the swimming pool, which provided a perfect escape from the afternoon heat.

The first night we had to sleep in a room in an unbelievable condition, with a disgusting smell. Before we even entered the room the staff already apologised to us - every staff member knew about the condition of the room and the hotel still offered it to us. The second night we got a new room, which was very nice. When checking out I asked for a discount for the first room, which was however not offered to us. This is the reason why this review only has two stars.

Horrible experience

Arrived 8pm was told hotel in renovation, should go to Sinning but back to Marquesa for bkfst. I paid for shuttle to Sinningbut no one was there so back to Marquesa. Was taken to nearby appt of owner's(?) daughter to stay in basic(!!!) room for $50,000 COP/about $18US This was espite and in addition to $207,000 i had already paid for original Marquesa reservation. How do i get my money back? Should Hotel de la Marquesa be penalized? i love your organization and thinknyou should hold your hotels to a high standard. Hotel de la Marquesa in Mompox, Colombia was horrifically deficient and disingenuous.
