Everything was lovely, the only downside was that the shower only had overhead waterfall so not ideal if you don’t want to wash your hair. Iron, iron board and hairdryer available

Floating cabin was so much fun!

We stayed for two nights in Tembek, one of the floating cabins, and it did not disappoint! Clean, comfortable cabin, and really lovely staff who were so helpful at check in and check out, and when using the bar at the main hotel. Only minor niggles would be the very poor water pressure from the shower, and lack of a mirror other than in the bathroom - nothing above the dressing table or near a socket, so very difficult both to wash and dry hair! Also we were told at check in to book breakfast via the QR code provided in the cabin but this only goes to the booking facility for lunch and dinner bookings, so in the end after getting no response when ringing reception to book, we just had breakfast at a local cafe instead. These are very minor and picky niggles though, everything else was perfect and the floating cabin was so much fun and such a novel experience.

Not as advertised

We came to celebrate my 65th birthday and to see the band Function 22, who were advertised on your web page. Another reason I booked was because I was assured of free parking close by. Neither of us are in good health and cannot walk far without pain. I left my partner with the luggage and drove to the car park. There were no spaces left. I tried phoning reception but no one answered. It said leave a message and they would call back. I tried twice, waited ages, but nobody called. Eventually other guests appeared who also had no space. They told me to follow them to another carpark. It was the other side of the harbour and got me a long walk back. I was in pain by the time I got to reception. All I was told was it’s first come first served. Next day it was torrential rain and I got soaked getting the car. The band never turned up and we later found out they never agreed to play and were not happy that they were advertised on your web page! Room nice but bedside tables far too small. Not fit for purpose. Food in the restaurant was expensive, limited choice and they chips were not very well cooked. Soggy! The fish I had was nice though. Good shower and good bed. Quiet room. Spoilt my birthday with the previous issues of parking and no band unfortunately.

Good, comfortable hotel.

The welcome at the hotel was great, the room was really nice and spacious and comfortable. The general service was very good, and they seem to be aiming above their 3 start status with the attitude of the staff. I have two criticisms. The first was that it was noisy at night, because you could hear other room doors opening and closing. The second is that the breakfast could be much improved. It was a pretty small buffet for the size of restaurant, and they just couldn't keep the pastries, which are the first thing on the menu they give you, well stocked enough. They would bring them out on plates three pastries at a time, and they would just disappear.
