Wonderful Stay

The cabin was beautiful warm and cozy. The property is well maintained and it is easy to see it is well loved in all the small details, window dressing, artwork as well as furnishings. Just a wonderful and beautiful stay. Also, has a great view and walking distance to Wildflower. We both recommend this property and look forward to staying there again!

Fantastic getaway

This house in Mentone was the perfect weekend getaway. Beautifully decorated with ample space for us within walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Mentone. The cozy cabin had a comfortable seating in front of fireplace that was perfect for reading, working a puzzle, or watching football. We would love to visit again.

Great Location

Was happy to find this last-minute for the Thanksgiving holiday. Was in a great location and the owner went over and above to make sure we were happy. Overall a great stay in Mentone!

Great spot Mother/Daughter weekend

The cottage is in a great location near Mentone spots like the Wildflower Cafe, the Sallie Howard Church and walking distance to a great sunset at Brow Park. The home is exactly as described, clean and well-stocked. The owner/manager was incredibly responsive when we couldn't figure out the heat/air (which was very easy once pointed in the right direction). We would stay here again.

Wonderful cabin in perfect location

Charming, well-maintained home on a quiet street, very close to center of Mentone. Awesome sunsets from The Brow, nearby small city park, just a minute’s walk away. Perfect moments: besides sunsets…spreading our blanket to lay down in the middle of the street late night, looking up at a star-filled sky…walking down the hill to hear a free Celtic music concert. Wonderful stay…100% recommend.

A perfect cabin for a perfect "girl's" gathering

Four long time friends wanted to get together for a rather last minute weekend. Mentone was a convenient location and Red Bird Roost couldn't have been a more perfect cabin for us. The accomodations were cozy and comfortable. Although small, the kitchen had ample glassware, plates, utensils, towels, etc. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. The porch was a great place to relax. We thoroughly enjoyed the short walk to watch the evening sunset at Brow Park. Finally, the owner was attentive, responsive and generous. We sincerely hope to be back soon!

Girls weekend

Last min trip with friends to do some antique shopping in Ft Payne. The cabin was beautiful and peaceful. We never even turned the television on. The restaurants and market in Mentone are fabulous. You are in Alabama but you feel as if you are far away. The atmosphere is just different in Mentone.

Forever Friends Retreat

My two “forever” friends ( we have been best friends since 6th grade) and I enjoyed a weekend at Red Bird Roost. It was cozy and close to everything! We loved the location! Being on the brow we took a picnic right down the road to a picnic table and watched the sunset We enjoyed Hatters cafe and Wildflower cafe also. We had a great time❤️Highly recommend this cabin

Wonderful stay

We had a great stay at the Red Bird Roost! Everything was clean and we had everything we needed in the cabin. We enjoyed the short walk down to Brow Park to view the sunsets and having Mentone Market so close by was convenient to grab things we needed. Also loved relaxing on the back porch and enjoying the view from the cabin!

Perfect Place for a Weekend Getaway

This was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. The cabin has two porches/decks with beautiful views. They were the perfect place to read and enjoy morning coffee. We walked up the street to Brow Park every evening and watched spectacular sunsets. During the day we hiked in Desoto State Park and Cloudland Canyon State Park. There was a market a short distance from the cabin that had really good food and essentials. Also in walking distance there was an exceptional farm to table restaurant called the Elevation Bistro. It is a true farm to table restaurant with a very talented chef. We hope to spend more long weekends in Mentone and will definitely book this cabin again.

Best Location!!

Cabin is quaint and cozy, and cute as a button! Great location for walking to the log cabin shopping village and the Saturday morning farmers market while still being located on the brow. Very quiet neighborhood, cabins don’t feel smashed together, felt private even with neighbors. Had central heating but opted to enjoy the beautiful fireplace in the main area which also heated the loft sleeping area and hear the fire crackling. Had everything you needed for a relaxing trip. Owner texted upon arrival so we could contact them if we needed anything. 5 star review isn’t enough, it was perfect and authentic. Mentone at its finest! Will definitely book this cabin again!!!

Cozy and comfy

My husband and our 8 year old grandson stayed for their Boys' Trip. The place and the views were amazing. On the second morning of their stay they were both having allergy and asthma related issues. We surmise that there must have been a cat in the place at some point. Upon there return home, after coming into contact with their clothes, I started having allergy issues. Also, we paid for wood but could not find the wood that we paid for. The only wood that we saw was the wood in the bin but there was a sign on the fridge that stated the wood in the bin was for the owner so the boys didn't touch it.

Cute cabin on the brow!

My husband and I were in the area for a long weekend and stayed at the Red Bird Roost. It is exactly as shown on VRBO, a cute renovated log cabin. The bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed the fireplace because unfortunately the weather was frigid our entire stay. Because of the weather, we didn't do outdoor things but did do a few day trips and also enjoyed a few area dining spots we hadn't gotten to hit on our prior visits. The owner was very helpful and checked on us a few times. Love the Mentone area!

A special cozy cabin in an ideal location

Sweet, cozy cabin in a lovely location. Staying in this clean, comfortable, well-stocked cabin helped make our Thanksgiving stay in Mentone enjoyable. There were special touches everywhere, even a bit of Christmas, making us smile. Brow Park is a short walk and a perfect place to catch the sunset. And, yes, there were red birds.
