Extremely Disappointing Stay at Pullman ZamZam Makkah
My recent stay at the 5-star Pullman ZamZam was extremely disappointing and far below expectations for a hotel of this standard. The check-in process was chaotic and delayed, with reception staff using WhatsApp messages to arrange rooms instead of a proper hotel system. No one explained why it was taking so long, and it was clear the team needed better training on hotel operations and guest handling.
The room was in a rundown condition, with old furniture, a poorly maintained bathroom, and no view as advertised, which felt misleading.
The lift system was another nightmare — since the hotel is on P11 and shares the building with a public food court on P3 and P4, everyone (including non-guests) uses the same lifts. This caused 20–30 minute delays just to go up or down, which is unacceptable for a 5-star property.
The only redeeming part of my stay was the housekeeping team, who were polite, professional, and truly delivered 5-star service. Their friendliness and efficiency stood out amidst an otherwise poor experience.
Overall, I strongly suggest management address the check-in process, staff training, lift congestion, and room maintenance, as the current standards do not reflect the Pullman brand or a true 5-star experience.
