- Lancer’s Gap – For gorgeous views of the city, especially at sunset, take a taxi here.
- Royal Palace – The Royal Palace is great to add to a visit to the Royal Archives and Museum, which details Lesothos’s royal history.
- Thaba Bosiu Cultural Village– This historic mountain village and fortress was once home to King Moshoeshoe I, considered the father of the nation. It is considered one of the country’s most important sites.
- Maseru Golf Course – To practice your swing, head to this golf course. You might even find yourself playing with the king.
- Lesotho National Museum – If you want to learn even more about the country’s history, check out this uniquely designed museum.
- Maletsunyane Falls – At 192 meters high, these falls are the tallest in all of southern Africa. Visit the nearby Semonkong Lodge to access them.
- Katse Dam – The Katse Dam sits over the Malibamat’so River and is one of the biggest in Africa. It is a stunning site, and while you are there you can visit the nearby Katse Botanical Garden. For views of the reservoir, just head to the nearby Katse Village.
- Tse'Hlanyane National Park – Located in the Maluti Mountains, this is the country's largest national park. It is great for hiking and even pony trekking.

Are there any airports near Maseru?
The closest airport to to Maseru is Moshoeshoe I International Airport, at about 30-minutes away. Mejametalana Airport used to be the main one, but was turned into a military airport after the construction of Moshoeshoe.
Moshoeshoe has only one destination to Johannesburg – OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa. So if you are flying from abroad, you will need to fly there first and then to Maseru. If you need to stay overnight in Johannesburg, there are 736 hotels near the airport.
