The owner confirmed question before we arrived and was there to show us the room, letting us know breakfast time and aquantus us with the keys. The room was clean and warm with a separate toilet and shower that worked well. The breakfast was great with a choice of cereal, lots of high quality full english breakfast items and toast with jams. Lots of drink options too with fresh orange juice. Jim the owner has made a special place to stay, even allowing guests to use the dining area outside of breakfast time with a microwave available to use. There are information leaflets for the area too, with the main town just being a short walk away. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Jim

Had difficulties in contacting host, as email sent a couple of days before our visit and a telephone call on the norming which went straight to answer phone. No contact made by host before we attended. Room clean and tidy. No parking on front as although 3 parking bays 2 cars parked badly so has to park on the street

The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. They provided us with a cooked breakfast as well as a selection of cereals. Shenandoah House about 5 minutes walk from the beach and is close to local shops, restaurants and cafes. It is also within walking distance to the Turner Gallery and Dreamland. Good staying safe environment

I spend 2 nights with my family the room was a good size and comfortable. My children enjoyed sleeping time. The room was however noisy being on the side of the main road. The view was great with the sea just a stone throw away. I had to personally asked for the WiFi connection on the second day. I needed for my kids lessons online. The location was good with Tesco close by. But it’s quite a walk to the town centre. The cost is affordable as a bonus Overall was a good stay.

Great location

Very friendly staff , Laura and Jim made us feel very welcome. Room very clean and comfortable and has all you would need for a short break. The area is really nice , it’s in a busy road but did not bother us . Very conveniently located to Margate main sands - will definitely staff again.

We received the warmest of welcomes from Jim, the proprietor. He was so lovely, funny and kind. Although the Shenandoah is a period house, it is right up to date, the decor and furniture looked new. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent, there was probably something to suit everyone. I’m a bit of a Nespresso addict and usually take a machine with me when I travel, I didn’t this trip but was delighted when I found a Nespresso machine in the breakfast room. The Shenandoah has rooms to suit most. It even has glamping pods if you fancy something a bit different. There is off street parking. Thanks, Jim, it’s obvious that you’d go the extra mile for your guests!

Excellent location for us, quiet - about 15 mins walk along to coast to major attractions. We were here for one night and thought it was great value, really nice guy looking after the place made us feel welcome, even with 2 screaming kids. Would come back for sure.

Fabulous!

Couldn't have asked for more for a short stay in Margate. 2 mins walk to the beach and very close to the centre and main amenities. Very dog friendly which is a plus, but still exceptionally clean. Room facilities excellent - lots of towels, very comfy bed, toiletries and plenty of tea & coffee. Jim is an exceptional host; the best we have ever had; cannot do too much for you. Great welcome and chat about what there is to see and do in the local and surrounding areas, buses etc. Jim, you are fab! and we hope the business continues to thrive.
