Villa Riina is a brand new 4 bedroomed beach villa located close to the towns of Ambalangoda and Hikkaduwa. The sandy beach is 3 kilometers long and one of the best witch you can find on south coast. Villa itself is a modern contemporary style property opened February 2014. We have 3 large"master bedrooms" and a Twin room all with sea view, en-suites and air conditioning. The villa is fully staffed (Manager, Cook, Cleaning lady, Garden boy and Night guard ) our friendly team will take care of all your needs. You can have your breakfasts, lunches and dinners as you wish and pay only groceries, which in Sri Lanka is almost nothing.
The villa is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 5 bathrooms, and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with 4 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a Smart TV with a DVD player. The bathroom offers hair dryers and bidets. Other standard amenities include a private pool, a washing machine, and a fenced private yard. Limited housekeeping is available.

Staying with sandy and co.

We really enjoyed this unique experience of staying in this house with sandy and her fellow staff They did their job without being in our faces which we would find uncomfortable. The food that they served us was fabulous. They arranged transportation for us and gave us ideas as to where to go etc . Very honest with regards giving them money to get shopping etc.

Beautiful Spot Right on the Beach

Despite the bombings in Sri Lanka that happened during our stay, we had a fabulous time at Villa Riina. Pros: Good communication with owner, friendly staff Nice spot on the beach with amazing sunsets Easy to catch tuk tuks Nice meals Easy to arrange transportation and tours Excellent air-conditioning in the bedrooms Shampoo, shower gel and soap provided Cons (most of which Villa Riina has no control over): 1. The rooms smelled a bit musty, but airing them out during the day helped. I have allergies, and they were not set off so it really wasn't too bad. 2. The two adjacent properties seem to be illegal trash dumps and the waves can both pull out the trash and deposit new trash on the beach--including the usual plastics, glass bottles and cans, but also dirty diapers and household trash. I did a beach clean up--I hope everyone considers picking up a couples pieces of trash each time they go to the beach. 3. Undertow too strong for swimming--I wouldn't suggest anyone with daring, disobedient, or very young children stay there. My 10 -16 year olds were strong enough to play in the surf, but none of us felt comfortable enough to dive in. This might be seasonal. 4.The noise from the road--there are tuk tuks that go around selling bread, ice-cream, etc, and each has a different jingle. They start EARLY.

Wonderful Villa. Wonderful Staff.

Staying at Villa Riina was an unforgettable experience! The owner and in-house staff were all fantastic. They took care of everything including airport transportation, bringing in very affordable nannies, excellent food, and even a massage therapist. It was a completely relaxing and pampered vacation. It’s easy to get to both Ambalangoda and Hikkaduwa from the villa. Be aware, the AC is only in the bedrooms. Although there are ceiling fans in the living room and porch, it still gets very hot.

Fantastic location on the beach with really friedly staff!

The Villa is super nice with its fantastic location in the (almost) private beach and the staff is really friedly and helpful. We had great days in the Villa. Only reason for not givning 5 stars is that its a little bit noicy being right next to the main road. I would strongly recommend my friends to stay in Villa Riina, as we were recommended by our friends. Enjoy your stay here!

Marvelous place steps from the ocean; most amazing sunsets

What a wonderful place!!! Our stay here was nothing short of idyllic. Sandy, Jagatha, and team took excellent care of us. They cooked incredible meals and fulfilled every request we had. The villa is right on the beach and the back veranda faces west where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunsets. We spent a lot of time on the beach and in the swimming pool. The villa is a few minutes away from the train station which we used to go to Galle (~35-40 mins only). Also took the tuktuk to Hikkaduwa (~20 mins) to explore the beach and restaurants there. The host Heikki was very responsive to our questions and helped make all the transfer arrangements, gave advice on what to do, tipping etiquette, etc. We truly hope to come back again and stay for longer.

This was a magical place. The house is exactly like the photos and 10 steps to the beach. Sandy and her staff are awesome cooks and go out of their way to make sure every detail is taken care of. They arranged transport, tours whatever we needed. Awesome stay!

A beautiful property in a stunning location.

We had a wonderful stay at the beautiful Villa Riina. The location of the Villa is exceptional, next to the Indian Ocean The welcome and service we received from all the staff was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for Sandy, Jagrath and the team who made our stay memorable. We would recommend Villa Riina to any visitor to Sri Lanka who is looking for something special.

The Perfect Place for Two Families

We had a WONDERFUL stay at Villa Riina. We were two families with four children between us and the place was the perfect size, the pool and beach were excellent, and Sandy and Jagath were excellent hosts and cooks. The ocean was a little rough for our little ones but they loved playing on the beach, and the fact that there is a shallow section of the pool made the pool the perfect place for the kids to swim. The hosts were very accommodating in helping with tuk-tuk rides and daily excursions, and the food was great. The only thing that we did not know about until we arrived is that the house is right off a main road with lots of traffic. The grounds are very secure and gated and there was never any concern of our kids walking into the road, but there is a lot of traffic noise and buses that are flying own the highway and hitting their horns. Otherwise, it is the perfect place to stay!

Nous sommes partis à 7 adultes, dès notre arrivée à l’aéroport, nous avons été pris en charge par un excellent chauffeur envoyé par la villa Riina. L’ accueil par Sandy et son équipe a été plus que chaleureux. Nous avons pris possession de cette magnifique villa au bord d’une plage déserte, avec l’impression que l’océan nous appartenait. Grâce à Sandy et son équipe, efficace et discrète, nous avons eu le sentiment d’être les seuls hôtes d’un hôtel de luxe. Merci pour ces vacances extraordinaires!

Villa Riina très agréable.

Nous avons passé 5 jours dans cette villa avec un couple ami. Les prestations sont tout à fait conformes, les chambres sont agréables (nous occupions les 2 à l'étage face à l'océan), deux autres chambres sont disponibles, une en RDC sur terrasse sur océan, et une autre à l'étage, sur le côté et l'arrière, bien sûr moins agréable. Une remarque, valable pour tout le littoral depuis Colombo, la route principale passe juste derrière la villa, et le bruit de la circulation est important, voire très important, klaxons incessants, bruits de moteur... Donc tranquilité relative, même la nuit... La piscine comme le jardin sont très agréables, et la plage aussi. Bien entendu, nous sommes sur un littoral avec des vagues et un peu de courant. Lors de notre séjour, la mer était plutôt calme, mais néanmoins avec quelques séries de vagues importantes. Plage propre, et mer également. Le personnel est à l'écoute, et il est comme dans tout le pays très accueillant. La cuisine est simple mais de qualité. Il faut commander ses repas et anticiper, si vous souhaitez autre chose que de la bière facile à trouver..., comme du vin qu'il faut aller chercher au Wine Store du village. Cette remarque étant pour les Européens qui boivent du vin (!). Tout ceci ne pose aucun problème, compte-tenu de la proximité d''Ambalangoda, il faut juste un peu anticiper, et suggérer, car sans celà, on tourne un peu autour des mêmes repas..., et il faut reconnaitre que les restaurants des environs sont peu nombreux, même si Hikkaduwa est proche, mais la station est quelque peu saturée de tourisme de masse, cette remarque étant car je suppose que les personnes intéressées par une location de villa ne cherchent pas forcément ce genre de station. Donc, propriétaire réactif, agréable, personnel idem. Nous pouvons donc recommander....

Une villa exceptionnelle

Au bord de l'océan, une piscine pour ceux qui n'osent pas affronter les vagues, des chambres très spacieuses avec une literie très confortable et des salles de bains très bien équipées . Et Sandy et son équipe qui font de notre séjour un moment exceptionnel. Cette semaine à Ambalangoda a été un vrai bonheur . Le Sri Lanka est un pays bruyant alors dans cette villa comme ailleurs prévoir des boules quies, on entend les vagues et les boulangers qui s'annoncent musicalement tous les matins très tôt.
