Lovely hotel with attentive staff. The only issue was with hotels.com. Terrible service, taken hours of my time to deal with an issue that should have been very straightforward. It is a shame that this reflects on a good hotel - we would avoid using this agent again.

Great for the centre of Ludlow and for the Food Festival which we attended. An amazing building on the outside. Not sure where the £2.5m on the refurb went. Stayed in the Deluxe Twin Room with Balcony. Not sure what the Deluxe referred to. Reasonably spacious but nothing out of the ordinary. Several old cobwebs behind the voile and one hanging down from the ceiling just outside the bathroom. Dust on the bathroom door architrave. Just generally tired looking. The staff were always smiling and polite which was great when it was mostly chaotic on Saturday evening between 6 and 8pm. Basically they weren't prepared for the number of people. Those staying overnight, those from the food festival plus locals enjoying the Saturday afternoon 'funk it up' gig. The poor staff didn't know what they should be doing and who to serve. Then the bar was out of stock because of the funk it up. And no I wouldn't recommend it or return. Management - get a grip.
