Carbon & Coast is classic mid-century Malibu, set right on the sand of Carbon Beach — the famous stretch locals call Billionaire's Beach. This two-bedroom, one-bath residence at the Malibu Outrigger puts you steps from the water, so mornings begin with the sun coming up over the ocean and nights end to the sound of waves rolling in just beyond the balcony.

The open floor plan keeps everything light and connected. Wide plank wood floors run through the living space, where a fireplace anchors the room and a private balcony looks out toward the water and the sweeping curve of the Queen's Necklace coastline beyond. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a French door refrigerator and built-in oven, and a dining table for four sits close enough to the view that no one wants to leave it.

Sleeping arrangements flex easily for a small group or a family. The primary bedroom has a king, the second bedroom pairs a queen with a pull-out twin, and a queen sleep sofa in the living room opens up space for two more. It's an easy, comfortable home — the kind of place you settle into fast and don't want to leave.

The building brings the beach lifestyle full circle. Guests have direct access to a private sandy beach area, plus a shared saltwater pool and spa for the days you'd rather not deal with the tide. There's also access to shared laundry for the sandy towels and swimsuits at the end of a beach day, storage on site for boards and kayaks, and an elevator, all inside a secure building.

As for the neighborhood, this is one of the best pockets of the California coast. World-class dining at Nobu is a short stroll down the beach, and the Malibu Pier — with its fishing, surf-watching, and wide ocean views — is minutes away. Surfrider Beach and Malibu Lagoon draw surfers and birdwatchers just up the coast, while Whole Foods, the farmers market, and a cluster of shops and restaurants sit a few minutes up the road. Best of all, you're close enough to reach the Westside or the Valley with ease, yet far enough out that Carbon & Coast still feels a world away.

This famous beach town may be star-studded, but it's a laid-back community at heart. Think beachfront restaurants, small boutique shopping, and quiet residences perched between the water and the stunning Santa Monica Mountains.

Home Truths:
- Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- There is a fireplace, but it is not available for guest use for liability reasons
- Laundry is not in the unit. Guests have access to a shared laundry area within the building, available to all residents and guests on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A Homeowners Association (HOA) fee of $200 will be charged to the guest at the time of booking. This fee applies per reservation, regardless of the length of stay.

Parking Details:
- 1 reserved parking spot in the underground garage.
- Street parking is very limited.
- Unfortunately, there is no plug for electric cars in this home.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.
