Hotel Jimenez Plaza
2/5 Poor
"It's just a few feet off the carretera. So, easy to find, but with the noise of the carretera. The desk person was bar none the least hospitable person I have ever encountered in hospitality (and I spent many years as a risk management consultant in hospitality, so I have met a lot of them).
The pictures of the hotel were definitely made at the hotel. They are not outright lies. But if you've ever seen those photo comparisons of someone with great makeup, and then no makeup, where you can't believe it's the same person, it's like that.
Possibly the worst thing about the desk clerk and possibly her employer, was that we wanted a room with just one bed. Many places actually charge more for that and we would have paid. But here they charge more for two beds, and she told us that the single bed rooms were sold out. We had arrived at about 530 and there were virtually no other cars in the lot. We went into town seeking supper (another episode of the Chamber of Commerce photographing the town with serious soft focus lens). When we came back, after all the restaurants in town had closed (7pmish) there were still very few cars in the lot. Just disgusting lies."
