Fantastic, quirky, friendly! The meal at the restaurant was the best I had in Longyearbyen and also in recent memory (try the whale steak!). Wonderful breakfast spread, comfy waiting area / common room. Highly recommendable.

Fabulous atmosphere at this hotel - it is as though you are one of a science team or early explorers - however these modular type bedrooms have no sound protection and the black out drapes were not sufficient! But the restaurant was delightful with exquisite food - just make to book a reservation early!!

A great stay and very unique in style not something you find in many Hotels. The reception is very helpful especially Storm who understood my needs and very caring.The one thing I didn’t like was the creaky floor boards particularly the corridors outside rooms at night it can be noisy. Maryann’s is cozy, quiet, and heartwarming oasis in a desert of corporate modern hotels bleached of all feeling. It is a very walkable distance to the city center but far enough away to shake off the town when you want to. Having lunch and dinner as an available option on site is convenient but we very much enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Everything was so fresh and made with obvious love of serving. I would definitely return here.

Great budget stay

We thorough enjoyed our 3 night stay in this lovely quirky establishment. Although the rooms are not massive, they were big enough and it was so much more interesting than staying in a bland corporate hotel. The staff were amazing and the huge lounge area had a lovely homely feel. Don't worry about the shared bathrooms, they're large, well appointed and there are plenty of them. We would definitely stay again, and would recommended it to anyone. Thanks to all the team there who helped make our trip so memorable.

I stayed for four nights at Mary-Ann's Polarrigg. Overall it was good. The single room was clean and the bed comfortable. A roller blind on the window helped cut out the 24 hour sunlight at night. The shared bathrooms were kept very clean. My olny complaint was that the show stall drainage was not great and a couple of days the shower soap dispenser was empty. The restaurant is very nice. The menu is a bit limited if you are vegetarian. They had one vegetarian option, and it was the same every night. The hotel staff were all very nice. Everyone speaks excellent English. It's about a five minute walk into the center of town. The airport bus goes to this hotel.
