The Space
Situated just a minute from Latimer Road Tube station, a 10 minute stroll to Portobello Road, and a 15 minute walk to Westfield shopping centre, the property is a newly redecorated 4 bedroom apartment which is perfect for families with children or small groups.
Set in a garden square the property is on the ground and first floor of a part private and part council development.
It features 2 double bedrooms with very comfortable king size beds and 2 single bedrooms each equipped with full size single bunk beds.
The living room has a large L shaped sofa and a 50 inch JVC smart TV.
The adjoining dining area has ample seating for 8 people.

The Area
Notting Hill was immortalised in the film of the same name starring Hugh Grant. A trendy, bohemian part of west central London, it features handsome Georgian and Victorian stucco buildings and large garden squares.
Portobello Road and its famous market are a short stroll away, and the area is host to a multitude of shops, bars, cafes, cinemas and restaurants of individual character.
Many of London’s most acclaimed restaurants are in Notting Hill. Try places like The Ledbury, The Hereford or E&O but you will need to book! There are also lots of great individual restaurants and bars.

Avoid if you can

We were extremely disappointed. The listing does not convey how decrepit the building and place are. It smells, the bedroom doors cannot close, dishes and cutlery were dirty, the bedsheets of one bed, though clean, were stained, and the neighbours are noisy to 3am (the listing warns to be quiet yourself). This said, the check in process worked as described, we had three sets of keys, and it is very close to the Latimer station.

While at the co-op at 8:30am grabbing a few breakfast items, my husband saw someone trying to steal. He witnessed the store keeper and the thief brawl while the storekeeper was trying to retrieve the items. The people surrounding the home were loud but it was hot so we opened the windows. Convenient location but not our favorite spot.

Pleasant Stay

We enjoyed our week-long stay at this flat. The property was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The living and dining room were large enough for all of us to congregate. The underground is a very short walk and there are 2 markets close by for incidentals. One stop on the underground and you are at the area mall.

Great location

We had a great stay! David was very responsive and provided very clear instructions for everything. The location was great, very convenient to the tube and a quick walk to Portobello Road. London Break

A group of 7 of us stayed (girlie family break) for 3 nights. The owner was helpful with the booking from start to finish and answered any questions we had quickly. The flat is ideally located as it's a 2 minute walk to the tube station that takes you in and around London. The flat was clean and roomy for us all. We would highly recommend and would use again. Spacious stay in London

Home was quite spacious and well-equipped. Easy access to the tube, local grocery stores and pubs. David was available with quick responses to questions. Unfortunately, while we were staying, David informed us that the following day he would have to be at the house between 1:00 and 4:00 with a contractor. This was not great for us as we were extremely tired and had hope to be resting in the afternoon. The following day, the door opened at 12:00 and in walked David. So we had to be out of our house from 12:00 onwards. I do think this was a one-off, but worth mentioning in the fact that it was very inconsiderate and inhospitable.

Good base for London explorations

We stayed here as a group of two families (4 adults, 4 children). The rooms set up is perfect for this kind of group: two bedrooms with queen-sized beds and roomy wardrobes, and two smaller rooms with bunk beds. (Please note, however, that while there are two WCs, there is only one shower.) When arriving at the property, if you are taking a car, direct the driver down Shalfleet Drive so you can drive right up to the front door; otherwise the location on Google maps drops you off across the square which is a super short walk, but not when dragging luggage. The location is great as a base for exploring London: a two-min walk to the tube, and then pretty much 30 mins by tube to anywhere you're likely to go. The ground-floor location was perfect to not have to drag bags up stairs (but note that the unit itself is a duplex). We did laundry once, using the washing machine, and dried the clothes on the provided clothes rack in the backyard. The fire alarm is quite sensitive, so be on standby to turn it off if cooking bacon or sausages, even with the exhaust hood on and window open. The host was very responsive and kind enough to stop by on the first day with a French press and to answer some questions we had about the property. Check-in was very smooth.

Efficient check in, good access to transport. Mattresses were very uncomfortable, dishwasher was broken( door). The flat met our needs but there are some things needing attention,( under kitchen sink/ we had to empty the vacuum before using it )

Location

Location was perfect. So close to the tube. A grocery store near by. We needed a warm place to sleep, shower and with easy access to the subway, it ticked all the boxes. With 6 of us the hot water in the showers didn’t last too long, but not hard to stagger shower times, and water heating could be switched to continuous and didn’t take too long to heat.

We really enjoyed our two night stay in David's flat. It is super spacious and comfortable and has everything you need for not only a short stay, but I expect for a longer stay as well. We hope to be back (with kids in tow this time as there's definitely space for them too) again soon.

Convenient location

Thank you for our stay. It was comfortable and conveniently located. Just want to make you aware of a few things we encountered: upon arrival we found one of the upstairs windows had been egged (unpleasant). The downstairs sink has a leak/drip from the cold side. There is a smell of gas coming from the gas unit. One of the neighbors appears to be using your outdoors trash bin. It was immediately filled same day as the trash pick up, so we thought it best to leave inside as there was no room to place it outdoors

Davids's place is exactly as described. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and was located a 5 minute walk to the train. There are 4 bedrooms that could accommodate 2 families easily. I recommend David's home to anyone visiting London.

Great affordable place for a family

GPS will take you across from the playground which is great if you are delivered by taxi without luggage. If you have luggage turn right by the grocery on the corner and take your first right into the alley and you will be right at the door. Perfect location to walk to the portobello markets. Great space for a family with a playground out front.

Upside: So very convenient to Underground and a nice little grocery store. Clean and as described. Downside: The flat is located in a building with several other flats, so it is a little busy around the building. There are several locks to get inside the flat, which we found difficult to work . The outside door to the building slams shut, so it is a little noisy from other tenants coming in and out. One day, guys were washing and vacuuming cars outside which was a little noisy too and made getting in and out of the building a little hard. However, we always felt safe and the noise wasn't too bothersome. The convenience of the location and the cleanliness / set up of the inside of the flat over-ride the light amount of noise.

An amazing hidden treasure.

The property is in the best location. 2 minutes from a convenient grocery, tube station and park for kids. We used this as a home base and with two underground lines close by we traveled London and had a wonderful place to call home every night. Bravo for a clean, well appointed home that was perfect. We will plan on a return to London staying here of course!
