Ericeira: Praceta Porthaus is beautiful and had everything we needed.
Nestled in a cul-de-sac in a cute, little neighborhood off the main road, we were well situated just off a row of stunning beaches and surf havens. Beautifully furnished and decorated with some great photo art pieces, we felted very pampered and comfortable. Elle and Tim were very helpful and responsive and the house had everything we needed. Detailed information about the house and surroundings was provided on a website created just for guests.
The house is technically 2 units – one on each floor – so there’s a kitchen and two bathrooms on each floor. We rented the whole house, but it would be a great space for two families/groups to share as well. Great to have a pool.
We loved Ericeira. Such a great little town just a 10 minute drive of great views down the road. Blue and white buildings. Charming shops, restaurants, old churches and tiles. And not too touristy or crowded (at least went we visited at the end of June/early July). We were 40 minutes NW of Lisbon about an hour from Obidos and a bit longer to Nazare. Mafra is a short drive.
A 15 minute walk down the hill takes you to Ribeira D’ilhas, a restaurant right on a terrific surf beach. A short walk up the hill takes you towards other beaches, cafes, markets and restaurants. Across the road is a nature reserve and you can hike around the cliffs overlooking the beach. Even on the afternoon my husband and son took the car for a golf outing, I was happily occupied.
Given the chance, I’d return again and again!
