Great location on the beach .The rooms are a bit dated and old. There was rust on our towel rack. The pool is tiny but the location and beachfront cannot be beat.

Great area for good food and nice beaches.

My stay was for one week..they have very good places to eat some local dishes..food at the hotel was just ok..bit expensive compare to a 2min walk to the local restaurant that you can have a nice meal for about 12euro..the area is in a great location you have the stile of nice beaches right by the hotel..you will love the staff..but the rooms do need to be updated but not too bad..love the fact that there was two full baths in the studio.. I recommend..plus you can rent cars and book tours right next to the hotel.

It will do if you're staying close to the airport

This Residence Prao in the Karibea Beach Resort was an okay place to stay. After staying for several nights in Basse-Terre, this area was a disappointment. I highly recommend getting to another area to experience how beautiful Guadaloupe is. The hotel itself didn't allow check-in until 3pm. We arrived at 1pm and none of the staff offered for us to use the beach, which is why we came. If you get there early and you can't get into your room, say that you'd like to use the beach or the pool and ask for a towel card. The room was stuffy but clean. The front desk ordered us a cab to get to the airport in the early morning, which was there on time and cost about 35 euros.

Avoid this place!!

So disappointing ! The check in was done by a staff member that was obviously animated by the end of her shift. I was wasked a credit card deposit in oreer to use beach towels!? Our room was frequently visited while we were outside and it was not discrete because they would leave the light on and doors opened!!! The sofa is really old and need to be replaced as soon as yesterday !! Bathroom need serious refreshments... When we checked out we were asked to pay almost $2000 for 3 nights ... which was a total mistake from their part since we already paid our room though hotels.com Last but not least, as we left at 4:00 am because we had a plane to catch we were asked if we wanted to do a late check out! :-o Yeah... Me neither!! Tourist trap, avoid this place

Not happy with the rate for the quality of room.

we were not happy with the location of our room for the price paid. Facility is wearing out and does not have comfortable bed or furniture. TV in the LR did not work (very tiny screen!!). For the price of $180/night, we got a room with the view of trash cans, and no breakfast!!

Still "under construction" ...but will be great.

The hotel is still under construction and a few places are currently being renovated. Oddly enough, there isnt a spa at this beach "resort". Im sure once everything is fixed up, this place will be great. Oh, and the beds are super firm & uncomfortable

Not a Vacation Destination Hotel

This hotel was our least favorite in a month's trip. However, it served our purpose of being located in a safe area within a reasonable distance of the ferry port (15-minute taxi ride). The hotel has more of an apartment building vibe to it than a hotel. Nonetheless, it was clean and comfortable. Not recommended as a place to vacation, but works for a quick overnight to be in proximity to the ferry port or airport (25-minutes by car).

Big, comfortable junior suite with a fully equiped kitchen on the spacious balcony. Quiet location. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute drive from the airport away.

Very nice beach paradise

My first visit to a Caribbean / European country. Nice hotel in the little island of Guadeloupe. Glad i made this choice, Internet service was decent -- pretty good bandwidth and wi-fi coverage for business travelers. By the way, french is useful ;-) , second choice would be Spanish... and if you get lucky you can find somebody that speaks English... Loved the hotel, loved my vacation. Highly Recommended. My room had a fully-stocked kitchen, by the way. which i didn't use, but it's there.

Lovely Hotel with little beach on south shore of Guadeloupe

It took me a while to understand how these hotels fit together. There are three Karibea Beach resorts in Gosier -- all on the same property, and all sharing the same front desk. The front desk and each hotel are in separate buildings. From each of the hotels it's a short walk to the beach. The Prao is slightly behind the other two, so is presumably a little less preferred, but the difference is small. The rooms were great. Separate rooms in the suites, with closing doors. Nice beds. A very nice shower. (Actually two showers in the suites; the one in the master bedroom was somewhat nicer.) The collection of beaches in Gosier are not perfect for most water sports. Each hotel in the main collection of hotels that includes the Karibea Beach Resort has set up a little beach with rock walls protecting the beach from the ocean. You can use any of the beaches, but you have to walk between them. (In principle you could swim out and around the rock walls, but that seems like it would be quite dangerous.) The hotels make it awkward to get to many of the beaches, isolating them from each other. The three beaches we tried all had some combination of rocks and seaweed to make them less than perfect for playing in the waves. (In our experience, this was true of most beaches on Grande Terre; The west coast of Basse Terre had much nicer beaches.) The staff were great, the rooms were great, the water was beautiful. There were nice-looking tennis courts. Overall: very satisfied.

It is accesible to the beach and other amenities nearby the area.What I liked most was that I had a full size bed. Mostly, hotels in French territories offers a twin bed for singles. I hate that! This one offers a full-size bed (but ask for it).

Kitchenette dĂ©labrĂ©e, frigo sale et hors d'Ăąge, vaisselle presque inexistante (3 petites cuillĂšres, 3 couteaux, 3 fourchettes et 3 assiettes dĂ©pareillĂ©es...), poignĂ©es des meubles poisseuses, siĂšges du balcon crasseux... À l'intĂ©rieur, vieux canapĂ© sans coussins pour le dos, tĂ©lĂ©commande de la tĂ©lĂ© qui ne fonctionne pas, douche couverte de moisissures, siĂšge des toilettes dĂ©poli par l'usure et les annĂ©es, baie vitrĂ©e presque impossible Ă  ouvrir tellement elle est usĂ©e, wifi ne fonctionne pas... Pire encore, ne voyant pas passer la femme de mĂ©nage, je suis allĂ© Ă  l'accueil, et on m'a rĂ©pondu que c'Ă©tait locatif et que le mĂ©nage ne serait fait qu'une seule fois en 12 jours de sĂ©jour, et que les serviettes ne seraient pas changĂ©es plus souvent. Évidemment, il m'a Ă©tĂ© rĂ©pondu qu'on ferait suivre mes remarques aux responsables, le blah blah habituel des gens qui pensent faire correctement leur travail mais qui ne font rien. Aucun intĂ©rĂȘt de continuer Ă  venir sĂ©journer ici, pour ma part je ne reviendrai pas.
