Memorial Stay
Everything was as beautiful as the pictures! The hottub was wonderful! We enjoyed the privacy and the lake setting. Very easy to get to local restaurants, with my favorite being Brooks Tavern. The TV had a great picture. It was a quiet retreat for us. Communication with host was quick in response and helpful.

Group Retreat
The property was very clean. Lots of space for our group. We were comfortable, except for the main bedroom bed and a couple others, which felt to be on metal supports without much to cushion them. Owner was very responsive, which was appreciated.

Weekend Getaway for All Ages
My family of 15 with ages ranging from 9-70 had an amazing weekend at this house! There was plenty of room for all 4 families to spread out while still being together. The upstairs kitchen was fantastic to cook in and had everything we needed. The downstairs kitchen made for an easy snack station while going down to the lake, rocking on the porch or relaxing in the hot tub. Check in and check out was simple and the owners had excellent communication. Also the nearby towns of Tyron and Landrum had some excellent antiquing and cute shops!

Nice place but needs work
The house overall was great. I asked if the hole.in the deck was fixed they said it was and it wasn't. The deck railings are NOT safe! The one outside the master is especially unsafe! We weren't left with any dish soap to wash dishes, no hand towels for kitchen to clean up, no broom to sweep. If anyone rented the house for a week it would be a big mess or you'd have to bring your own cleaning supplies. The grounds around the house had LOTS of trash broken stuff which takes away from the house. There are no books to tell about locals shops, attractions, food, etc. No directions for house features, like remotes, lights ( which switch is were) master TV or music wouldn't come on. We had to clean up down by the water where the kayaks and paddle boards were. I cleaned up the shed and organized myself. With 16 people we were left 4 trash bags for 5 days. I brought extra paper towels and TP bought never thought I would have to bring cleaning towels and cleaner. Also, the top bunk downstairs needs a railing to prevent a child from falling out it so high. The couch hadn't been cleaned under the cushions and who knows how long! There were cigarette butts under the fold out couch ( that BARELY folded out) upstairs with NO sheets to put on it up there. No big pots to cook spaghetti (which is a family easy go to on vacation). Drawer broken in the fridge falls right out of you put anything in it if not careful. This house is great just NEEDS some love and good setup when paying $$$$.$$

Nice house
The sleeping arrangements should be a little more clear in the description. We realized we needed the air mattress when we got there, that night realized it had a hole so we had to go buy a new one. The freezer on the bottom level has not been cleaned in some time, I saw another review stating the same thing from December 2023. The house is nice, but could be cleaned better.

Grand Lake House needing upkeep
Unfortunately, two of the three fireplaces didn’t work and being from Florida we were excited about them. The master bathroom’s jetted bathtub didn’t work, and since we don’t have a bathtub at home, we were very disappointed in this. We found two adult shoe-sized holes in the decks (master bedroom and main deck), so we couldn’t really enjoy or let the kids on the decks. The house really is a beautiful home and located in a beautiful neighborhood. It’s a shame the care is lacking.

Mountain stay
We liked the location and the size of the house very much.
There were dirty windows, thick spider web in master bedroom window, dirty vents and dirty kitchen sinks, freezer in basement had a red liquid all over the bottom that we assumed came from meat products, cabinet door missing in Main kitchen, door knob loose on one bedroom, a couple of electrical sockets hanging loose from wall, gas fireplaces did not work and a few other things that did not work or were broken in some way.
We enjoyed our trip but the above mentioned thing were a disappointment for us. I only wonder if owner knows this is how there house is being maintained.

Great Family House
We loved our week here. This multi level home provided spaces for all ages to hang out & the downstairs was great for kids.
Fishing across the street and kayaking filled our days, with time around the fire at night.
Sage was responsive to my texts & helpful.
We will definitely be back.

Just beautiful views and house. Minimal issues.
I would like to start out by saying this house and surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful. The lake, the mountains in the distance and the towns in the area are all spectacular.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed every second. We even extended our stay another night.
Lindsey and Sage were quick with all responses and answered all questions we had.
We would 100% stay again.
Just a few minor inconveniences but nothing that ruined our trip.
1. The jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom did come on for no reason at all, as stated in a previous review. However, we found that if you left about an inch of water in the tub it stopped it from turning on and off every 10 minutes.
2. The pots and pans need an upgrade pretty badly. One of the handles is about to fall of a skillet but we managed to make it work.
3. We were never able to get the fan in the master bedroom working. But there are 4 other bedrooms that all have fans and they work perfectly.
All in all very minor issues considering how beautiful everything else is. We loved the fire pit and hot tub as well.
You won’t be disappointed if you stay here.

Enjoyed our stay
We stayed for 2 nights, for a quick getaway. It rained so we did not rent the boats. We did enjoy the hot tub, pool table and arcade area. The couches and beds were comfortable and the house is very roomy and clean. My only minor complaints are the plates and bowls were plastic and get very hot when you microwave them. There are no dishes in the downstairs kitchen, although it does have a great ice maker. Also, it would be good to provide plastic cups to take drinks to the hot tub. More information about where the boats are located and how to access them in the listing would be good, and warn guest about not using the dilapidated steps that go down to the lake. Some lamps in the rooms would be nice as well. I had to turn the closet light on in the evening for a light option instead of the super bright overhead lights. We would definitely stay again, and our 8 year old loved the house.

Better than described!
We had 3 generations of our family come together for an amazing 3 night stay - the house was PERFECT with 6 separate rooms for sleeping spread across 3 levels, we had so much room. There are a lot of stairs so keep that in mind. The driver to the house is spectacular and windy, with beautiful lake views - those not used to very windy roads may find it intimidating. The views from the main room were the reason I chose this house. The communication was wonderful, Sage was kind and so helpful. The house is spotless, beautifully designed and has everything you need to cook and enjoy. Pool table. Hot tub outside. A firepit outside. 2 fireplaces inside. Huge tvs. Loads of couches. Kids had a blast. And let me tell you about that master bedroom on the top floor - just wow! Thank you!!

Beautiful home
This is a beautiful home with a lake view. Initially, communication with rental agency was good. However, we wanted to know how to start the fireplace on the main floor and never heard back. It would have been nice if the home had a notebook with information about the house inside.
We really loved the two separate living spaces, as not everyone wants to watch sports!
I would suggest the owners have a beverage pitcher in the kitchen and a muffin tin. Also, make sure all fans work and lights.
There were plenty of beds for our group and the home was very roomy. The home was clean and in a lovely setting.

Terrible Host - communication and responsiveness
My husband and I have stayed in numerous VBRO over the years in Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, and Arizona. We rated every one of them 5 stars.
The responsiveness and communication from Unique Stays is terrible. I would avoid staying in any of their properties. Honestly I would like a partial refund from Unique Stays.
We rented the home Monday through a Friday. When we rented the home it had no reviews, but Unique Stays was rated a Premier Host, which according to VBRO is “a free, invite-only program that recognizes owners and managers who consistently deliver great traveler experiences.” Seeing this we took the risk and were terribly disappointed.
On the day of arrival we sent a couple of messages to “Missy & Sage” with a couple of questions and a second with some concerns. They only responded to one with a very brief response. The communication only got worse from there as issues with the house arose. There was a nearly new Weber charcoal grill, which was not properly assembled and missing the charcoal grate, which makes the grill unusable.
I called the phone number and was connected to a call center, not the owners. The call center had a maintenance person call me. The maintenance person, Kevin, was 4 hours away and said nobody was nearby to help with the grill. He told me to look around for the missing grate. I never found it. I also mentioned grilling utensils were nowhere to be seen. He said he had personally purchased grilling utensils for the house and left them in the downstairs bar drawers. This was Wednesday evening. I never heard from Kevin again and nobody ever fixed the grill…so much for purchasing meals to grill.
The last night we stayed in the house the masterbath jet tub turned on the jets every hour for about 2 minutes each time despite us never using the jet tub. It kept waking me and my wife. I texted Kevin the maintenance guy about the issue before we checked out on Friday. I never heard back from him.
There is a beautiful bar in the basement with some wine glasses, a few water cups, and a glass pitcher. I would have expected more.
The home was missing many essential items, such as coffee maker, not a Keurig. There were only plastic bowls/plates and only glass cups. It would make sense to also have plastic cups for children and the outdoors. The bowls/plates got very hot while microwaving them.
The house had no cleaning supplies aside from a small vacuum. There were no guides to the area or instructions about the house.
