Very bad hotel for foreigners

Very unprofessional customer service. Credit cards not accepted even though the hotel states on Internet that they accept accept all major credit cards. No daily cleaning, no clean towels. Hotel charged my credit card twice even though I cancelled my reservation and moved to another hotel

Unpleasant experience

It was a very disappointing experience and in fact this is my first time giving out a negative comment on a hotel, but I cannot help leaving a comment here. First, there is no lift/elavator so if you carry big suitcase, good luck to you because you have to carry yourself on stairs and that they are extremely reluctant to help you or not help out at all. After I begged a few times a staff member finally helped when I checked in but another then refused firmly when we checked out. Secondly, washbasin sink and shower sink both half blocked and water went into bedroom. After I reported the problem, no one actually showed up to repair during our 3 day stay there. Thirdly, there is no kettle so no hot water if you'd like a cup of tea or coffee. Fourthly, no hot water on one day so no shower unfortunately and they had no idea when it could be repaired. There are other disappointing areas but I think these four already caused many problems for me and my family and friends.

Hotel is dirty and in bad condition .Staff is lost don't know what to do .Shower water get hi in drain is blocked.They use the closet and under the beds for storage .Better go somewhere else.

Good Stay for a Bargain Price

Hotel was very cheap. (About ~€30 per night) At this price the room was very spacious and comfortable; it even had a balcony. This was a former Soviet style apartment converted into a hotel. The interior design was elegant but most of the furniture were in poor condition. In terms of location, there are various pharmacies and grocerie stores around the area; as well as being only a mile away from the beautiful Tarasa Shevchenko University and Gardens. Hotel receptionists spoke English and were very nice, but be sure to bargain if extending your stay. With that said, Hotel babushka doesn't speak English and will enter your room at around 10 or 11 to do housekeeping, regardless of if you are there or not. Overall it was comfortable and aside from some cultural shocks it's worth the price.

A Small Paradise Hidden in Kyiv...

The negative reviews had me skeptical. Pay no attention to them. I suspect a negative attitude gets one a negative experience. I had a wonderfully delightful stay as I adjusted to the time change. The staff went out of their way to accommodate! Alina's English is actually far better than she thinks! Nastya's English is also very good. Just speak slowly and distinctly. Everyone I met was helpful, friendly, kind and SO much fun! :) There's a wonderful restaurant that never seems to close literally on the same block serving yummy breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper any time of the day or night. Their sushi is fresh with the heartiest portions I've witnessed in any country! There's more places to shop nearby than you could possibly visit and the prices will likely require a huge shipping container to get all your goodies home! Seriously, you must check out Royal City Hotel and surrounding Kyiv by checking in soon! :)

Good value for money

After reading the reviews I proceeded with caution. However I was pleasantly surprised about how nice the hotel was. The staff were very helpful and friendly, room was very clean, there was decent furniture. Good central location.

OK Hotel, with terrible customer service.

My first night at the hotel, the bed broke. I notified this to the hotel Staff. Yulia the front desk clerk was amazing, she worked hard to provide the comfort and service that I expect and that I am use to. Unfortunately she was the only person in the hotel with customer service. The rest of the staff was rude and unfriendly. The housekeeper /maintenance technician always sounded angry and spoke loudly as if she was arguing with someone or about something. I don't speak the language but I could understand the word Americanski or a reference to me. The other Hotel Clerk was no better with her customer service skills. If I needed anything that asked for she provided the service but with an overwhelming attitude. They were difficult people to approach. The best thing this Hotel has going for it , is Yulia. When she was around it felt like a good establishment.

Never stay at this hotel

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. The continuous slamming of doors day and night from other guests and staff. Noise from other guests day and night to. Stayed there for 9 nights and not one descent night sleep. Shower broken and heated towel rail did not work. No tea or coffee facility in the room . Will never go there again

You get what you pay for

This is a budget hotel. It is clean, has excellent breakfasts, and the staff is courteous. The neighbourhood is a bit dodgy (the hotel is behind the main street, accessible through an alleyway; follow the red neon sign from the main street indicating a shop which deals with the seedier side of life - I can't use the actual word as the hotels.com website keeps throwing it out for being 'inappropriate language'!!! ). The folderols (see canopy over bed) are a bit over the top. But no complaints, you get what you pay for and it fulfilled a purpose for us.

Their checkin time is at 2 PM, and they would not even bother to find you in their system earlier if you already arrived. They take lunch from 1 to 2 PM, and only one person can verify the confirmation number with their computer. So you will have to wait till she is back from lunch before they even let you in. And they don't even apologize for poor service.

Taxi Drivers can't find it

The hotel is smaller and hidden behind another set of buildings with no signs indicating where it is. The hotel is nice and clean but at night the lock the doors and the front desk (table with PC and phone) has to let you in and out. The room and bathroom were clean and they give you the amenities of a nicer hotel, bathrobes, house shoes, soaps and shampoos. All in all pretty good for the price. Tell taxi to put the address in their GPS.

Tinha duas reservas para esse hotel: 1 noite + 3 noites. Na primeira diária deram-me um quarto muito pequeno, em que o frigobar não funcionava, e que não correspondia às fotografias no site do Hoteis.com. Reclamei e me mudaram de quarto no dia seguinte. Quarto maior, mais confortável, com uma pequena varanda fechada, mas o frigobar apenas refrescava, havia poucas lâmpadas no quarto e não forneceram o controle do ar condicionado, ou seja, fiquei sem o ar, embora na reserva ele constasse. Durante o dia chegou a fazer 27 graus em Kiev. Pontos positivos: tamanho do quarto e cama muito confortável, supermercado próximo com boas opções de comidas prontas e bons vinhos a preços baixos. Pontos negativos: distância do centro de Kiev e das principais atraçoes turísticas, pelo menos 2 km; limpeza do quarto precária, pessoal pouco atencioso. O hotel fica num edifício residencial adaptado. Apesar do nome e das fotografias (que parecem melhor que a realidade), é um hotel econômico.
