Eine Katastrophe! Allgemein die Anlage war wie ein alter Bauernhof und der “Manager” sehr ungepflegt
.das Zimmer war extrem heruntergekommen und wir konnten nicht dort schlafen. Die Gardinen hatten schon dunkle Flecken! FINGER WEG!

We are a family of 4 , travelling for 3 weeks. Started at Phuket-Phi Phi- Koh Lanta - Koh Samui - Koh Tao - Koh Samui and Bangkok. What a wonderful experience, fantastic holiday. We stayed in 10 different hotels and Shady Resort was the only one that I would not recommend to anyone! The staff are rude and no service available. although they advertise room cleaning , they refused to clean our room daily. No water, toiletpaper etc. in room. Duvey cover and sheets had cigarette burns. Although the resort was completely empty they refused to give us a ocen view cottage and put us in a smelly room in the backyard! We moved to Chaweng Gardens and for 30 $ /person more / night we had an complete different experience and was very satisfied with Chaweng Garden Resort

The hotel location is really perfect, if you are searching for a calm hotel directly at the beach. The food at the hotel restaurant is really recommandable and the hotel owner a nice and easy going guy. The only thing, which was a little dissappointing was, that we didn't get any answer by phone or email, when we tried to book hotel rooms individually. Also, though it is written that there is an airport shuttle, that only means, that you can order a taxi to and from the airport (around 500 Baht per trip).

Seit den spĂ€ten 90ern besuchen wir das Shady Resort alle paar Jahre mal wieder. Anfang der 2000er war es DER Geheimtipp, super Personal ĂŒberdurchschnittliche KĂŒche, fantastischer Blick von der Terasse aufs Meer. Als wir vor ca. 6 Jahren zuletzt dort waren, waren die Bungalows neu renoviert, aber Publikum (vorwiegend laute OsteuropĂ€er), der Service und die KĂŒche waren nicht mehr so toll. Bei unserem aktuellen Besuch war das Restaurant mit der tollen Terrasse wegen irreparabler SturmschĂ€den aus dem Januar geschlossen. Es gibt dort nichts mehr zu essen und Service ist eigentlich keiner mehr vorhanden. Es sieht alles danach aus, dass das Resort aufgegeben wird. Der Strand ist noch immer toll, daher auf Maenam Resort oder Palm Point (rechts und und links davon) ausweichen!

Fina bungalows vid stranden.

Rymliga bungalows i glada karamellfÀrger vid stranden eller i den vackra trÀdgÄrden. Restaurant vid vattnet med god thaimat m.m, duktig utbildad massös, trevligt familjestÀlle med fin atmosfÀr och god stÀmning. Vi var hÀr för tvÄ Är sedan och kommer gÀrna tillbaka.

Etwas von alten Koh Samui

Wir waren vor 19 Jahren schon einmal hier und fĂŒhlten uns wie damals sofort wohl. Einfach und sauber und durch Mama,Papa,Cee und Noy wurde uns mit viel Herzlichkeit ein toller Urlaub bereitet. Eine kleine Oase zum WohlfĂŒhlen, fĂŒr alle die keinen Luxus wollen. Schade nur, daß sich der Rest der Insel so verĂ€ndert hat.

Ruhig und nah am Strand

Das Shady Resort ist total gemĂŒtlich und direkt am wunderschönen Strand mit schattigen Palmen. Man kann sogar noch das GefĂŒhl vom ursprĂŒnglichen Thailand bekommen. (im Vergleich mit Chaweng oder Lamai - schrecklich) Restaurant beim Shady sehr lecker und sehr gĂŒnstig. In der Umgebung ist nicht so viel, ein paar nette Bars und Restaurants, wer ein paar Tage Ruhe habe möchte ist dort gut aufgehoben. Einige Zimmer sind neu renoviert, mit Flachbildschirm, total unnötig. Das Meer war wellig und wird sofort tief. Aber schön und erfrischend.

Ok for the money...

If you want a cheap place to rest you head at night, this place is ok. We rented mopeds for the week and definitely are happy about that. The Maenam beach and area is not the hippest place on Koh Samui but wee made it work.

Tolle Lage mit super Strand und Blick aufs Meer

Chillige Anlage , freundliche Besitzer . Super Essen immer frisch zubereitetet fĂŒr schmales Geld . Thaimassagen gibt es am eigenen Strand und die Masseurinnen sind kompetent . Wir waren das dritte Mal im Shady und stellten fest das sie viele StammgĂ€ste haben , was fĂŒr diese kleine ( nicht luxuriöse ) familiengefĂŒhrte Anlage spricht . Roller kann man bequem und gĂŒnstig vor Ort ausleihen .
