We absolutely loved our stay at Kasuitei Ooya. The whole vibe and decor of the ryokan (room and building overall) was very calming and captivating. The breakfast and dinner provided was phenomenal and everything we ate was fresh. The beds were tad bit less comfy then what we have previously experienced with japanese futons but rest assured, they are still very comfortable to sleep on. The staff were all super friendly, helpful and very accomodating to our needs. We are very greatful for this experience and would certainly stay here again if given the opportunity.

Honestly the highlight of our entire trip. One night and it exceeded every single expectation we had. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely brilliant. The in-room private onsen facing the lake was just incredible. And the staff were something else, so kind, so attentive, so genuinely invested in making sure we had the best time. One night was nowhere near enough but they made every moment of it count. 100% recommended. Do not even think twice about it.
