The property is welcoming and the hosts are very responsive. There are many “extras” included (detergent, make up wipes, dog treats, dog toys, and even a kennel) to make it feel like home. The location is about half way down the street which allowed us to walk and see the sunset over the water. It is close to Target, Duck Donuts, Henry’s (and many restaurants) and the Wright Brothers Memorial. We loved the area. The beds were comfortable and the master shower is really large. The place is all upstairs as there is someone on the first floor in a separate no access unit. We never saw or heard them. We were here in the winter and most of the houses were occupied on the street which was a plus for safety. You will definitely love the hosts and appreciate how much effort they have put into the place! We loved the gift basket too. If you are looking for fun things open during the winter holidays, the Corolla wild horse tour, sand boarding on Jockey’s ridge, restaurants decked out for Christmas, Farmer’s daughter for Outer Banks gear, and seeing all the lighthouses (although Cape Hatteras LH has all the paint stripped off for refurbishment and scaffolding all around it as of Jan 2026). Enjoy your stay!

If you are looking to stay close to Nags Head, have children and or pets, you MUST BOOK THIS PROPERTY!!I can not say enough about the Hosts and the property. You will want for nothing, they have made it a point to make sure the littlest details are attended too. OUTSTANDING!! Communication was wonderful. They offer the little things that make you just in Awe of the thoughtfulness, such as a kennel, toys, treats and poop bags for your pups. A crib for your baby. Access to the YMCA and a parking pass for the beach access across the street. Tom & Linda are very special people and it really shows through. I would highly recommend and will definitely rebook.

We had all we needed and more to make our trip memorable from the gift basket when we arrived to all the little extras available in case we had forgotten anything. The home was very clean. The property was well furnished with all the comforts you’d need including full stocked kitchen and beach amenities. There was a thoughtful welcome basket and toiletries for anything forgotten…even charging cables. There were lots of touches to feel at home. The decor was lovely and the porch/shutters were fantastic. Hosts were great. It was very welcoming for a dog owner, with small fenced in yard. It was convenient to everything - bay, beach, bike paths, and attractions.

The Bar’s Been Raised!

After staying in Tom & Linda’s OBX home in Kill Devil Hill, I now have high expectations for future vacations! Not only was the house well appointed with more than we could ask for, the location was great for going N to see the wild horses, S to the aquarium and learn about the Lost Colony, E to the beach and W to the Sound. There is so much to do and see within a short drive, bike ride or walk in any direction. Tom and Linda are great and attentive host.

Tom's place was spotless and well appointed. They've paid attention to details--labels on light switches, "in case you forgot" toiletries, nightlights, quality linens, a well stocked kitchen, beach chairs, dog toys and treats, and more--which made staying there a sincere pleasure. We wanted for nothing. The location was minutes from the beach, but quiet, residential, and peaceful. We would gladly stay there again.

Christmas getaway - property was amazing!

Booked this say for Christmas vacation at the beach for the my mother and a friend and her mother. The house was great. The owners went WAY above and beyond for all the accommodations. House looks newly remodeled. All of the decorations and furniture were very nice. All the switches are labeled. Lockbox outside for easy check-in. We were all impressed in the binder left with recommendations for food and things to do. There were YMCA gym passes, a parking permit for Avalon pier thats straight across on the beach side. They even put out a dog crate with bowls in case we needed when I told we were bringing a dog!!! The host were easy to communicate with and made sure everything was good for our stay. This rental is upstairs so have to use stairs to get up to the house. There is great balcony seating wrapping around the house. A nice seating area with picnic tables in the side yard and even a small fenced area for dogs to use! Driveway parking for 3 cars. I believe this is a shared duplex for a renter downstairs. Overall was extremely impressed with this home and all the host have done for their guest! Would definitely recommend this home!!! Thank you so much Tom & Linda!

Enjoyable Stay in Kill Devil Hills

We stayed at the house for a week. The communication with the hosts was easy and they were very warm and inviting. The house was nicely updated and was stocked with many amenities to make the vacation easy. Towels, bikes, beach chairs, beach pass to park at the beach were all available for your use.The house was dog friendly with dog bowls, a crate, and dog toys. The neighborhood was quiet and neighbors were friendly. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to visit Kill Devil Hills.

Everything was perfect!

Communication with the property manager from before booking throughout our stay was excellent. They are determined to make your stay the best possible. Everything that's provided greatly lessened our travel load. The location is excellent. You can get to the bayside or beachside in minutes and theres an abundance of restaurants, shops, and things to do. They also made it super easy for us to bring our dog. They provided a crate, toys, poop bags, etc. The fenced backyard and gate on the deck also made having our dog with us super easy. You can tell the property has had some recent renovations. All of which have been done nicely. This property is exactly how it's listed but even better when you get there.

This welcoming, comfortable property is a great spot to stay when visiting the Outer Banks. What really makes it special—aside from its cleanliness, good location, and nice aesthetics, all of which apply, and then some—are the thoughtful touches that the owners have put in place. Just a few examples include: a welcome basket for guests, another basket full of things guests may have forgotten, tons of beach-related accoutrements, YMCA passes and an Avalon Beach parking/access pass, lots of toys and treats for pups, and more…even chilled glasses for frosty beverages! It was a wonderful home away from home for our week!

August Beach Week

We had a fantastic beach vacation! The house was very clean and had so many nice touches, including bikes, boogie boards, YMCA passes, and a parking pass for a beach access. The owners are local and had let us know that we could call with any problems. Of course we never had any issues, but it was nice to know they were available should something have happened. This is a dog-friendly rental so we were happy we could bring our dogs. There is a sound-side trail that was perfect for morning and evening walks. We have absolutely no complaints about this lovely rental and hope to return next year:)
