.!. This beautiful first floor apartment at Swan House has spectacular views across the valley to the Skiddaw Fells. A former 17th century coaching inn, Swan House was converted in 2006 into exclusive apartments and cottages. Set in delightful grounds, close to Bassenthwaite Lake and the village of Thornthwaite, the apartment is tastefully furnished with a contemporary touch. The living area has superb views to the front as well as a small balcony to the side with fell views. There is a pond in the garden (young children will require supervision) which provides a natural habitat for newts and frogs, there is also an abundance of birdlife, deer and red squirrels. If you are lucky you may catch sight of the ospreys which nest within 500 yards of Swan House and regularly fly over the grounds.
Lords Seat and Whinlatter Forest rise up directly from Swan House, with a variety of walks and mountain biking possibilities.

Excellent situation with lovely views.
Excellent situation with lovely views. Very comfortable, well equipped, warm apartment. Close to many local walks. Keswick close by for shopping and restaurants. Good parking.
Only problem was getting rid of our recycling at end of stay as these bins for Swan House were locked.

Fab 1st floor apartment, with great views of Skiddaw (with Helvelyn and Blencathra in the distance).

Well kitted out, with Smart TV, able to access Amazon, Netflicks and iplayers, so great for the kids and music.
Lots of great walks a stones throw away, and 5 mins from Keswick.
All in all a great place.
Only warning is the Box Sash windows, with no locks, so a worry with small / risk-taking kids!
Loved the Relief map of the lakes - really made it easy to picture where to walk the next day!
