KBM was incredibly rude and unaccommodating every step of the way and they don’t maintain this condo well. The condo itself has a great layout and could be very nice if KBM managed it properly. First of all, it was not clean (hair in the bathroom, dirty kitchen floor, laundry closet filthy, sofa had stains and dried-on food, one of the two kitchen pendants over the bar was burned out, light switches didn’t work in the bedroom, two other light bulbs were burned out, bed was made very sloppily, none of the clocks were set to the correct time. KBM would not allow us to check in 30 min early and were very rude when we asked. They acted like they were doing us a big favor by renting to us. The instructions they provided for arrival and departure were unnecessarily complicated and confusing. I was honestly amazed by their rudeness and their poor management of a condo that could be beautiful. The unit is very loud inside because of the hallway with kids running down the hall and screaming. Overall I would say Honua Kai is not a good choice unless you are traveling with young children. We moved over to the Mahana next door and it was paradise compared to Honua Kai. I hesitate to give this negative review because the issues were not the fault of the owner but rather KBM but decided it might help the owner to know this.
