Situated at the top of a new development site our property has unrivaled stunning ocean views. Decorated to the highest standards it provides the perfect place to relax and is the ideal base from which to explore the fascinating and beautiful natural paradise of West Coast Vancouver Island.

Our property is brand new in July 2017. Decorated to an extremely high quality standard. The entire property is available and comfortably sleeps up to six people. There is an electric vehicle charger at the property.

We are happy to be able to support the Ancient Forest Alliance (https://www.ancientforestalliance.org/) who are working to protect the local environment of Port Renfrew and elsewhere. For every booking that we take we make a donation to this local charity.

The place was great. The only suggestion we have is that there were no facial tissues in the house and the kitchen knives were dangerously bad. But otherwise, it was a great stay.

terrific stay in Port Renfrew

We had a 2 night stay recently in this rental. When we openned the door my daughter said looks better than the listing, always a good start. It was very clean, decently equipped kitchen, unreal view from the ample dack. We were there to go on a fishing charter with Marcus Kennett charters, the dock is right below the unit, could not be closer. Comfy beds, lots of hot water, small but cozy living/dining/kitchen room. Negatives, screen doors to deck need maintenence (hard to move), thats all folks. We will be back probably to fish next season as well.

Stunning amazing views and we were blessed with sunshine. The cottage is ample for 4 people and a great short stay. The area is beautiful but limited in amenities, however perfect for a quiet retreat with nature.

The views were spectacular, the location was perfect and the accommodations were cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed our mini-vacation in Port Renfrew enormously and would highly recommend this property. Of note, we really appreciate that the owners support the Ancient Forest Alliance. We were saddened not to be able to visit Avatar Grove due to a questionable “road wash out” during a months long drought. As supporters of the Ancient Forests and the work to stop old growth logging we hope that these amazing forests will be accessible to tourists for generations to come.

Amazing place, but……

The place is amazing as advertised, but we had a couple of issues that were kind of frustrating. 1. we had done our shopping based on the fact that the place has a bbq. When we went to start dinner on the first night I pulled the cover off and found the bbq left dirty (including the utensils) from the last people, and the propane bottle completely empty. I messaged the host and she called right away and apologized. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done other than us going to the gas station the next day ourselves to fill it up. 2. On the 2nd day one of the fire alarms started beeping intermittently (low battery I think). Since they are up quite high I wasn’t able to reach it so I sent the host a message. Again she called right away and said she would call someone to come have a look. Unfortunately no one came and the host did not follow up to let me know what was going on. Basically just said “I understand “ and “I’m sorry “. I ended up finding some items to stack up to stand on so I could reach it and unplug it myself. Even the next morning no call. Very disappointing. For all they knew we were sitting there all night and the next day with the fire alarm beeping. Bottom line is the place is amazing but the host needs to figure out how to deal with issues that arise in a timely manner. I would try to book somewhere that the host is around if I were to do it again. If you have an urgent issue here you are kind of on your own. The host was initially very responsive and pleasant but unfortunately they were not close by enough to be able to do anything other than call us.

An Amazing View from the Cottage

Loved the location. The Cottage was very nice and clean and had an amazing view. I think that it is really a cottage for 4 people and not 6. It was a little crowded with 6 adults. The website describes a living room pull out sofa that is comfortable, and this could not be further from the truth. Neither our son or daughter and their partners could sleep on the sofa bed! It was awful. However, we loved sitting on the deck, watching the sun set and in the morning, coffee in the fog, was great. Although the cottage had everything we needed, there were only 4 chairs for the dining table, 5 dinner plates and 4 placemats. Only 2 chairs on the deck made us appreciate our well organized kids who brought camp chairs. We watched the little fishing boats come and go and since it was a Fishing Derby weekend, there were many to watch. We could not find the garbage bins, and there was no info about where they would be, so had to leave our garbage bags in the cottage. Paper towels, and napkins would be a nice addition and a few more plates and bowels. All in all though, I would recommend the cottage for 4 people. Thanks

Tranquil getaway on the west coast

We were two southern Vancouver Island couples on a repeat visit to Port Renfrew. The two bedroom, two bathroom cottage suited us perfectly. It was exceptionally clean and everything was ready for us. The view from the deck and living room is spectacular! Perfect for sipping a glass of wine and watching boats on the water and eagles in the sky. Port Renfrew is a quiet community, suited to those who want to just kick back and relax and to those who like hiking, fishing and appreciating the wild west coast natural environment. Coastal Kitchen and Renfrew Pub offer simple and delicious food.

Lovely view

The property is wonderful. Arrive while there's light out if possible as it can be hard to find after dark--- The unit is at the end of a long road with some turns and the numbering was difficult to see and maybe not in perfect order. There are minimal extras (a few condiments in the fridge, instant coffee). The showers are nice (shampoo, conditioner, soap available), the beds are comfortable, and the patio is phenomenal. We loved soaking in the view through the wall of windows in the living room and stayed out on the patio as much as we could. Really, a wonderful place to enjoy Port Renfrew from. The only issue with the property was adequate and timely communication of check-in. We received property rules and a detailed disclaimer to be very respectful of the dinner table yet never received check-in information to enter the rental. On the Island, we didn't have cell service (or wifi) leaving us with no way of contacting anyone to find out the key code for the rental. We had to befriend neighbors, use their wifi, download a wifi-calling app, call my partner in the States, give him the property owners number, and wait for my partner to make contact and get us the key code. This took 1.5 hours and the kindness of the neighbors who kept us out of the rain and gave us wifi. In addition to timely check-in details, detailed directions to the unit would help as one of the residents had to help us find the place (it was dark).
