Step back in time at this charming vintage cottage which combines a bit of nostalgia (think old-fashioned linoleum floors and narrow, curtained doorways) with modern amenities that include a large deck and a newer (2017) six-person hot tub.
Pine Cone Cottage is a perfect spot for your family vacation. Here at the south end of Wallowa Lake, you'll be within walking distance of the lake and a wealth of activities, including mini-golf, restaurants, the Wallowa Lake Tramway, and horseback riding.
The living room has a wood-burning fireplace with vintage vinyl that will remind you of Grandma's house. The kitchen is off the six-person dining area with an outside exit leading to the gas grill. Extra amenities include a large collection of DVDs and videos, indoor and outdoor games, and extra towels for the hot tub.
At night, please note that the bedrooms do not have doors; they have pull-across curtains instead.
THINGS TO KNOW Seasonal bbqs are available from Memorial Day thru Labor Day. BBQs are propane and tanks are provided. We strongly encourage you to review your tank level in the morning and if a replacement is needed please reach out to your local contact for a tank replacement. Wood Stove is non-operational No cable service, but there is a Roku/VCR/DVD. You will need to be able to climb two flights of stairs to stay at this home. The grassy and creek areas on the sides of the home are sloped and may not be suitable for small children. The bedrooms do not have doors; they have pull-across curtains instead. No fires or firepits are ever allowed due to the heavy timbered area and county restrictions. Do not exceed the occupancy or parking limits at any time.

We had such a lovely stay at the Pine Cone Cottage. We love how quaint it was and felt so at home. We were disappointed the hot tub wasn't functioning at the time, but the communication with the manager was helpful. Would definitely stay again if we're back over that direction.
Cozy and the stairs on the porch were closed in so our dogs could enjoy inside and outside. Parking is tight but doable with a smaller vehicle. This is stated in the cottage information.

Pinecone cottage
The hot tub was amazing in the cool evenings with the stars above. We enjoyed the large deck and spent most of our time out there. Well equipped kitchen. The directions were not specific enough was slightly difficult to figure out which cabin it was. In the directions aepahoe was mentioned but not a one sign up there said that and many cabins have the vacasa sign and this one was partial broken and leaning up against the decking near the ground hard to see from the road.

Cabin was not cleaned properly
The cleanliness was absolutely poor! We found dirty wadded up sock next the bed on a stand. The tub was moldy and none of us even wanted to shower. When i went to clena up a all water spill the paper towel was black from one wipe and obviously hadnt been mopped in months! Excessive food and crumps in the freezer and fridge seals. Ice box had old ice from before us. The foil in the drop pans had old food and grease from previous guests. I paid almost 11,00.00 and half of that was in fees to not even have a clean place to stay for the weekend of my husbands funeral. I am extremely upset! I also cant upload pictures it isnt working. Where can i send them?

Cozy rustic cabin with an awesome hot tub
Cabin was probably built in the 40’s with that old fashion charm. Our first trip to the Wallowa’s, what a beautiful place!

Nice little cabin!
Great little cabin. Love the hot tub and the location and the old-school cabin charm with the narrow doors and wood everything. The floor is creaky and uneven and the ceiling wavy and the shower has no pressure and there are some spiders and who cares? It was really a charming place to stay. The front stairs are deceptively steep so don’t be in a rush, but we had a nice time.
