More pros than cons

The property was advertised as being surrounded by bush and very close to the magnificent Hyams beach . While the latter was true ) and it is a spectacularly beautiful beach!) the bush surrounds were a wasteland after recent fire clearing . Blackened scrub was dumped outside the house and our view was of an unsightly wasteland . .it just felt like misrepresentation on the website. However the house itself was well stocked and clean. We loved the simple and tasteful design of the house and the fabulous bookshelves! ( we have so many of the same books on our own shelves at home!) Apart from our one gripe, overall we loved the stay and think the owners are very lucky to have this little bit of paradise . Thank you for sharing it !

Amazing

We stayed at the retreat for 3 nights with our 4 children we absolutely loved it! The location is perfect only a 2 minute walk to the beach you can actually hear the waves from the house so calming and soothing especially during the night. The house is surrounded by natural bushland with the sound of the native birds absolutely amazing. The kitchen is so well equipped you have everything you need to to cook. There is also lots of board games and puzzles and an abundance amount of books. The house was also very clean. Will definitely be coming back to the retreat. It was 10/10 for us. Thank you

Excellent retreat

Sitting up in the trees, with a creek gurgling below the deck, we saw golden whistlers, white-throated tree creepers and many more native birds and kangaroos. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach and you feel life's stress washing away.

Perfect family retreat

Great house, perfectly situated and nicely furnished. We loved the layout of the home and the huge windows. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Ideal escape

This property has an ideal position, sheltered in the bush, but the shortest of walks to the crystal water and white sands of Hyams Beach. The internal design of the house works well, being compact but with lots of storage. The windows allow loads of natural light and frame views of the surrounding bush, both on the block and in the adjacent creek gully. It is an ideal beach and bush holiday location for a small family.

What a find

This little house has it all. A beautiful outlook, light-filled interiors and plenty of comfortable areas to relax. We enjoyed being moments from the beach and the cafe. A top spot!

The house is beyond amazing. Comfortable beds, the kitchen was perfect seeing as we cooked a lot. Great location and the outside dining table is just blissful spot to eat and drink. Will definitely come back. Thank you

The Retreat was very peaceful - we were surrounded by trees and birdsong. Every window looked into the trees - it was like being bathed in nature and greenery - so restful. We did not use the car once - just a short shady walk to the beach.Perfectly equipped kitchen for people who like to cook. Loved the book collection too.

Amazing property!

This house was perfect for our little family getaway over Easter. The house itself is fully equipped with everything you need (and some extra things you might have forgotten!) The location is beyond perfect. Its so close to the beach you can hear the waves but you are perfectly positioned in the trees that it is very private from the neighbours. The study area was perfect for our little one in the travel cot (though recommend bringing a blackout blind). The only negative thing was we didn't find the board games soon enough! Absolutely love this property and have recommended to friends. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place for my parents first visit to Australia. Great little house and they're blown away by the sound of the waves and the birds chirping. The house is in a great location steps away from the beach yet (it feels like it) in the middle of nowhere

wonderful restful & private

What a wonderful restful & private place this is! My husband & I booked this for my birthday, as a little mini child free getaway, and it was just what we needed to recharge the batteries. Even though it is mid winter, it was so cosy with its beautiful tree outlook & fireplace. Being a keen home cook, I should also commend how well equipped the kitchen is with its cooking equipment (Its not often you see this in a holiday rental). It has everything you need & more. This place is exactly as per the photos, if not better. And just a few minutes walk to the beach. Tayce was very responsive. Highly recommend, particularly for couples.
