Condos all owned privetly, and rented out. Owner we got was terrible, and had rented to someone else before we got there. Said she tried calling us a few times, but not sure I had my Thai number listed or not, as I never heard from her.
Staff guy at office was great and did his best to help us figure things out.
Another owner sitting close by offered us one of her rooms & another friend's place (we needed two rooms), which we were extremely appreciative for, but upon checking out the one room found it had an old spring mattress on the bed, which I wouldn't be able to handle due to a back injury, so we quickly called around and found a better cheaper ($1400 baht rather than her $1500 baht) place which even included breakfast, and decided to decline her offer to stay there.
She then wanted to charge us $300 baht cancelation fee (which we refused).
Seemed like lots of tourists there, so hopefully you get a good owner if you decide to book there.
