Texans Game

We came in town for the Texans game. Wasn’t too far away. House had lots of room and worked for what we needed. Area isn’t the best and nowhere to go really, but we weren’t looking for that because we were going downtown and to the game. Pool table and foosball to give things to do and lots of TVs.

Lots of space

First impressions not so good. Neighborhood looks a little dismal and unkempt. House itself neat and clean with a few exceptions. I’ll explain in a moment. Floors, surfaces, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms quite clean. But throughout walls were marred, dirty or had chipped plaster which I found a little off putting. It was great to have ping pong and foosball tables. I’m short and wasn’t able to get up onto the kitchen stools where I could watch TV. Considering how many people the Space could sleep, there wasn’t enough seating for conversation or eating all at one time in one space. In the end, we enjoyed the space, getting together was an important reason for getting this house.

This house is great for a large group. We came in town for the NCAA tournament and the home was amazing. Very spacious inside with all ammenities and the backyard adds another great space for you to enjoy.

WARNING!! THIS IS NOT A VACATION DESTINATION!!

Beware not to be duped by the photos of a "charming", "cozy" family home. We arrived to what I thought was going to be a fun family vacation to find ourselves in a very bad part of town in a neighborhood with homes with bars on the windows, surrounded by chain link fences, and trash everywhere (in the yards, on the streets, piled between homes). I was shocked. The photos of the home make it look bright and spacious but that is not the feel of the home or neighborhood. We felt completely unsafe and could not stay which resulted in the 9 of us having to scramble to find safe lodging. I cannot describe how disappointed and frustrated we were. TO BE CLEAR: This is not a vacation home in a vacation destination and should not be marketed as such (ie "Vacation"RentalByOwner/VRBO). Putting this property up for rent as such is incredibly unprofessional and frankly deserving of a refund. I have pictures of all the above described but as far as I have researched, VRBO does not allow photo attachments with their reviews.

GREAT PLACE

The pictures gives the space no justice! It’s beautiful! Very spacious. Has toys and things for kids, clean, and FUN! The location (address) is deceiving. This house is the nicest house on the block but the neighbors are quiet and your have great privacy. Close to all the fun things you want to do in HTX! The PM was great. Answered all the questions (I didn’t have many).

Location Amenities Comfort

The location was perfect for us. We were able to commute 12 minutes to shopping, nightlife and restaurants near Washington Street, Midtown and more. The lavish and large house had everything we needed. From billiards to ping pong, we had a blast. My wife is a cook and the kitchen was well equipped to accommodate us. The accompanying couples slept in there own bedrooms, and it felt like we were in two homes. Our host was helpful as he responded to our questions and gave us suggestions about eateries. We’ll be back later this year and I recommend to all.
