Fosshotel Vatnajokull

"We stayed at the Fosshotel Vatnajokull for 2 nights. It is a beautiful location, surrounded by the Icelandic landscape. Close to the town of Hofn. The hotel itself is beautiful with a lovely restaurant. The staff is super helpful and lovely. We had booked the Economy double bed rooms, which are on a lower level than the main floor. The only problem was that there is a set of steps ( about 6-7) to access that floor. Would not be much of a problem except we had older people in our group and carrying the luggage up and down the steps was not easy for them. There is a small 12 inch ramp next to the steps that we were told to use to roll the bags down and up. This would be helpful if the incline would have been a gentle one. This ramp was at a 45 degree incline ( same as the steps) which is completely not possible to roll a bag down without it pulling us with it. So if you have an issue with mobility or carrying bags up and down the stairs, I recommend not booking these rooms. Also I would advise the hotel to correct this ramp situation and make it more ADA compliant."
