Expected a luxury lodge from the ad…. It was not. Breakfast was a bowl of cold cereal- and a hard bagel….very run down looking with need of repairs. Rusty metal in bath, dirty trash on balcony of room. Carpet stained. Will not be staying there again.

The atmosphere at this lodge was peaceful and restful. We spent a lot of time in the rocking chairs on the patio looking out at the lake. The breakfast was adequate, with gluten free options that were a welcome surprise. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Some of the details in the room could be updated, specifically the balcony/bathroom door handles and the bathroom flooring that was cracked and moved when you stepped on the tiles.

This older hotel is very well maintained with lovely lake views and cozy seating! Friendly staff and a simple continental breakfast made our last minute booking well worth it! The towels were the softest hotel towels I have ever felt and the coffee was just good! We will go out of our way to come back here for a longer stay!

The property is beautiful with wonderful views of Chatuga Lake. The room was neat, clean, and comfortable . The bed was so-so on comfort. My room could use some sprucing up due to age. I think being surrounded by large magnolia trees, the balcony doors do not appear inviting. I would stay again because it was clean and the price was better than other hotels.

Great location for a concert or festival at the fair grounds or Anderson Music Hall. Service wonderful. The staff cannot do enough for you. But the rooms are a bit tired. In need of some paint. Some of the rubber baseboards peeling. Bathroom sink stained. Would we stay again? Of course. But only for concerts or festivals.

All employees were super friendly, views of the lake were gorgeous from the balcony, great coziness in the lobby area where we played games & chatted with friends. Keep in mind that this is an older hotel that will not have a lot of the fancy extras. Convenient to the Anderson Music Hall for a concert we attended and there is a BBQ restaurant very close by.

From the perspective of a housekeeping manager...Room was mostly clean, trash between bed and wall and behind chair in the corner. Bathroom was pretty clean. Beds were ok but kind of caved in in the middle. View of the lake was nice from 3rd floor. Common areas were mostly clean. Elevator needed some attention. At check-in we were told there was no daily maid service. If you needed something like towels or TP you would have ask. I am sure these would have been provided promptly but as we didn't ask for anything, I can't speak to that. A note was left on the desk in the room wishing us a nice stay but said tips would be appreciated. Staff was friendly. Grounds well kept. Enjoyed the quiet. Did not try any of the breakfast offerings so cannot comment on that. Overall stay was nice.

I didn’t like the price for the room being doubled because it was a Friday night. The place is clean, but really dated. I don’t want to be greeted with a welcome note from housekeeping that includes an invitation to leave a tip, especially after what I paid. Breakfast was mediocre at best, and also included a tip jar.

Got a nice third floor room which was spacious and clean. Nice balcony allowed us to sit and the clouds roll in. Gentleman at front desk dhring check in took care of business nicely and in quick order. Very nice stay.
