Helpful booking taxi

The hotel desk employee was very helpful and booked a taxi for me. My flight (first of three flights) had been cancelled, and then I had to leave earlier than expected. Unfortunately, I could not stay for breakfast. In fact, I had to leave at 2:30 a.m., and I did not feel safe waiting for the taxi because two disheveled-looking mean saw me waiting with my suitcase, after I had locked my key inside the hotel. They sat down on the bench closest to the hotel and stared at me. I felt threatened, but nothing happened. I was quite relieved when the taxi arrived on time.

Nice for dogs

Nice hotel, excellent breakfast, walking distance from train station, right next to the lake. The guy at reception at evening was super nice (Woman in the morning, not so much). They treat dogs very well, they provided bowls and sleeping mat for my dog. Unfortunately, I got a big allergy from dust from the curtain on my room. Other than that, I had a nice stay.

A nice hotel with just enough style! The staff couldn't have been more helpful. I gave a 4 on comfort only because floor 2 lacked air conditioning. But, with windows open it was manageable. Great bed and linens. Very quiet!

Beware of the parking issue.... There is absolutly NO street parking, but the hotel DOES have a garage nearby. That info. is not clear on the website. However, getting to the garage is tricky...it tooks us 5 tries driving around the same city block to find it. The communication about the parking was subpar. I will also say, that the breakfast is delightful and despite the extremely frustrating parking situation, the location of this hotel was near everything we needed.

Super location

A really nice place to stay, excellent location very close to the lake and also a simple 5 minute walk from the central station. nice clean simple modern rooms and a lovely courtyard in the shade. You cannot fault this place, well done!

STYLISH HOTEL WITH WONDERFUL BREAKFAST

The Aussen Alster is a stylish hotel which is conveniently located for the outer lake and the central station. It is in the St George neighbourhood which provides a very good selection of trendy shops, bars and restaurants of all different nationaliities. The hotel is modern and quirky with models of farm animals on the roof. Our room was not large but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with a very wide selection of breads and mainly cold accompanying dishes. The Aussen Alster represents good value for money and I would recommend staying there.
